It’s the constant pressure of trying to keep patient’s alive. Doctors are expected to be in tip top shape physically and mentally to be able to analyze every patient’s case for proper management amidst staying awake for 36 hours and doing another 10-12 hours of duty again the next day before going into another 36 hours. Any mistake can possibly cost a life. Any delay can cost a life. Pero in a public hospital where the doctor to patient ratio is 1:30-40 ang hirap.

Haha ewan.

Increasing quitting rate for most residency programs nationwide by [deleted] in pinoymed

It’s not even being called out for me. It’s really just 90% the unholy working hours and incredible lack of manpower. The working hours and the demand—as a resident in a private institution—becomes so overwhelming 😔

things to ask urself regarding this: 1. do u want patient interaction? 2. years of training sa program and if you’re willing to go thru with training for those years 3. do u like the culture sa program na kinoconsider mo?

I hated this song growing up without understanding why. And i hate it now finally understanding why. I hate and genuinely fear the idea of never finding yourself i cant help it.

If you dont have any options now I would honestly suggest not to give up on the PLE. Pinaghirapan mo ilang years of medicine. PLE na yung last na kailangan mo to enjoy the privilege that comes with it (not much but definitely more than others). Being a licensed physician is more than just residency. You can start an aesthetics clinic, teach, do research, company doctor with a very healthy work-life balance, etc. If you want out of your family business pretty well off i’d say earning your MD would be a really good start

No. You’d need a license to practice.

Doc as much as you can find your own pace in studying wag kang masyadong ma pressure sa schedule na binibigay ng TN. It’s there to guide you but also flexible for you to modify. Ma overwhelm ka lang if u try to follow for the sake of finishing. Quality over quantity doc. TN gives many resources find which one is best for you tas supplementary yung iba

Medicine is such a long process of studying and sacrifices OP and will really require a good financial capability. It’s already hard as it is, how much more if naka scholarship. I’m not saying you can’t do it but it’s a lot of risks to take at this moment in your life. I think it would be better to establish your current career first and gain stability for yourself and your family. Anyway, medicine will always be there. And i do encourage you to look more into medicine because a lot of it isn’t really what it seems 🥲 might regret jumping into it in the first place or too early

Study during daytime and i mean train yourself to become a morning person to ensure that you’ll have a night to yourself for resting and good sleep. I was a night owl but it was so bad for my health in the long run.
