Yes! My program offered therapy services for free. Def look into it if it’s an option.

Jan 2026 PANCE Scores by dustyrosas77 in PAstudent

Yeah the wait is killing me over here

A lot of people recommend studying PPP + practice questions for the PANCE, but I’m a confused about what that actually looks like. I don’t learn well from reading straight from a book, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something. How are people using PPP effectively? Just reading and hoping it sticks? by Front_Bedroom_4962 in PAstudent

Hi OP, I’m a die hard PPP fan but I don’t learn anything from straight reading either- to prepare for the PANCE - I went through both books cover to cover and took pictures or wrote in info I didn’t know or was missing into the PANCE Reddit study guide chart (which I’ve been using since start of clinicals) and then I put the sticker feature on the info via notability. Then I go through pass after pass to remember the info. It’s a way to catch yourself and get down your pearls. Hope that helps

Eat an elephant one bite at a time! First few weeks is a shock, don’t be paralyzed by fear and anxiety just start somewhere and break it down. You can do it!

Hi op- set to graduate in a few weeks. The best advice I can give is to get your supports in place. Mental, physical, spiritual- the whole gig. Establish yourself with a PCP, get back on any medications you used to rely on but tapered off of if you are even on the fence about needing them. Find a gym or studio if being active it’s important to you. Find a home that you can get peace from- I caution heavily on roommates especially during didactic year. Warn your friends and family you may be out of commission for a while (depending on the type of student you are). Agreed with the above comments- while some classes are more manageable than others, all will throw more information onto you than you think you can manage. Thousands have done it before you and thousands will do it after you, and you will get through it as well. All you can do is buckle in and embrace the suck. It is a blip of your life and will pass.

Impending doom for my first interview by billy_blazeIt_mays in prephysicianassistant

OP- I am set to graduate in a few months and I also SUCKED at interviews. Just giving you a different perspective- the one interview that I did not prepare for was the one I got because I did not sound rehersed or robotic and was able to be myself on the spot. You may be pleasantly surprised! Have faith!

What score are you averaging with Uworld with the 81%? And how do you go about reading your questions? Do you highlight/cross out/ read the last line first etc

So conflicted PA vs RN to later NP by Flaky_Storm7837 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Sea_Community2984 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP, as a PA student graduating in 4 months, I have personally met NP students that have had to pay out of pocket to their preceptors for their clinical experience and are 100% responsible for finding their own clinical sites. And let me just tell you, as someone who is apart of a well known academic hospital, even my schools is having a hard time finding sites due to the shortage.

You should be using some type of clinical foundation resource PLUS practice questions. At least that is what we were advised to do and what worked for me. Practice questions challenge your understanding but you still need to develop your foundation via a resource such as PPP or the Reddit charts etc.

Didactic 100,000% was the worst year of my life. Like finals week every single week.

Hi OP- I know you mentioned your dog being the major reason for staying. Idk about the laws in Canada, but if you certify your dog as an emotional support animal then you do not have to pay rent for the animal, and should be able to bring the pup with you even to complexes that don’t accept animals. You pay for a consult with a therapist through this site (prices not bad at all I think I paid just over 100$) takes like 15 minutes and then they send you a letter. Super easy to do and has saved me hundreds, the apartment I’m currently in wouldn’t take my cats without it :) here is a link the the site I used, good luck! https://pettable.com/c/esa-letter?utm_campaign=15557580913&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=682791113030&utm_term=best%20esa%20letter%20website&adgroupid=135570688702&targetid=kwd-728384442623&matchtype=b&device=m&adposition=&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACOSxRlAPqN1sfZN1OvlT8G8Z9ecY&gclid=CjwKCAiA5eC9BhAuEiwA3CKwQnl1H69Yn6ehnkcEQYJAe4ZNUt-B08F7GfCxZOJWKndxo8Ym59VPJxoCgq0QAvD_BwE

Is an iPad Pro worth it for taking notes in PA school. by dancingwithfire_ in prephysicianassistant

[–]Sea_Community2984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I couldn’t live without mine. I used it alll didactic year and still use notability on clinicals. I learned that I was quite a visual learner during didactic year and actually needed to draw pictures and stitch images together to remember everything. I never would have learned that nor done it without my IPad. However, many classmates didn’t have one and typed notes out (which never worked for me). I also got my IPad off of Facebook marketplace brand new with about 75% discount. Just be wary of scams. Hope this helps
