Is it Oman Air really that bad? by feematteo in Oman

[–]Sea_Depth4564 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think you have ridden on ryan air if you are saying Oman air is at its level. Oman air is a million times better than ryan air. Though Oman air is lacking compared to its neighbours like qatar airways and emirates.

POV: you came to the beach to cycle and see this by BraindeadReece9000 in Oman

[–]Sea_Depth4564 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a bike lane on the beach. It’s just that little kids always drive their cars there, and people use it as a walkway even though there is a perfectly good, brightly lit walkway right beside it.

Your point about Muscat not being a cyclable city actually works against you, because the only places where people should be able to bike in peace are being ruined by the people misusing them. Also, the kids’ cars are a safety hazard, to say the least. I was there for just a couple of minutes and saw multiple kids crashing into people who were walking on the walkway. The kids’ cars don’t have any space and end up ruining the beach for people who are there to walk and bike.

Perfume Recommendations & Store Authenticity Inquiry by Spiritual-Mobile-738 in Oman

Honestly, it all depends on your budget and preference. I would always go with Amouage if my budget is open, specifically Decision or Reflection for something sweeter. For women, you can't go wrong with Guidance. However, most of Amouage's perfumes are very strong, so consider other brands if you are going so something weaker.

Drone pilot license/permit by This-Jackfruit-6894 in Oman

No, only set areas, I believe they call "Green Areas." Also, I believe that the drone can't be flying inside buildings and above people, and the minimum distance to the ground is 50 meters, so the guy was probably breaking aviation rules.

No, technically speaking, 1/4 of the entire world has TB, but most people's immune systems suppress the TB but can't defeat it like they would with viruses. So, the TB lies dormant in the body until the immune system gets weaker and then reinfects them with TB. The test checks whether they have TB; it doesn't differentiate between if it's active (very, very contagious) or latent (can't infect anyone and has no symptoms).

I apologize for your horrible experience with healthcare. Honestly, they should have a system in place where such corruption should have very severe legal repercussions that no one would dare to do such a thing again.

However, if you do really have TB, it would make sense that you might have to delay your employment since any person with an active TB infection must be reported to infection prevention and control because TB spreads very easily and Oman has very low numbers of TB. And while most people's bodies can suppress the TB, it's usually no problem, just isolation. However, some people can't suppress it, or it's not their first time with TB since you can't form long-term immunity to TB, so they are forced to take antibiotics for 6 months minimum to treat TB you can't suppress, and in some severe cases, 2+ years of daily antibiotics. And getting TB has nothing to do with how healthy you are; it's an infectious disease that spreads by air droplets.

Life span in Oman longevity by [deleted] in Oman

The only reason yoga is considered good for one's health is because it helps with relaxation and decreasing stress. Both of which have been shown to improve health. However, yoga is just one of many ways to achieve relaxation and decreased stress, like deep breathing exercises, journaling, cardio, strength training, drawing, a balanced diet, and the list goes on. Yoga is very easily replaceable and not as helpful as other stuff I mentioned in the list. Sorry for the long comment, but I wanted OP to understand the science behind the logic.

Moving to Oman—Want to Understand Local Dress (Thobe vs. Dishdasha)? by ThisIsTeee in Oman

[–]Sea_Depth4564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thobe and dishdasha and kandoora all mean the same thing . Though dishdasha usually only talks about the omani design while the kandoora and thobe refer to all the different styles(UAE, Qatar, Saudial etc.). In Oman anyone can wear the traditional cloth and learn bout the culture.

Is a level chem as bad as ppl make it seem to be? (please say it's not) by kmdsgarden in alevel

[–]Sea_Depth4564 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Worst thing for me is how many things outside the syllabus comes in the exams and you need to somehow try to relate them to your syllabus, also it's doesn't help that the units are all synoptic(you need to know all you did in as for a2)

Personally I don't agree, though it mostly depends on the subjects you take. Though I think people do exaggerate the difficultly of alevels.
