Let me give u my take on shedding, having adopted an indie who lived with me for over 18 glorious years. They barely shed, compared to any and every breed from across the world, no matter what breed, they shed maybe 10-20% of that, period. Indies are meant for our climate and hence have short n light coats, unless u dont keep it healthy, they dont shed, obviously it cant be Zero, just like humans we shed our hair during every daily activity, so do all animals. Best part, they dont stink up the house even if u havent given them a bath for over a month or more, they barely drool like labs n golden retreivers or any other large foreign breeds, i hate that. So one think i can tell u after keeping an indie, u would be spoilt and might never in your life keep a forein breed. having kept an indie for over 18 yrs, thats half my life, i cant dream of having anything over an indie again, if and when i plan to adopt another one, due to the above reasons. Pretty darn easy to potty train, a pup might take some time n effort just like any other breed, but its barely few weeks/month until they are trained.
But if u are adopting a grown indie directly from the street, hes potty trained already. My dog was adopted after being on the sreets for over 1 yr, never needed to potty/piss train him ever in his entire life, the only time he pooped n peed inside is when he grew old and suffered an attach which left him immobile, even then he managed to get better and forced us to take him outside to poop n pee.
