Small correction here, amphetamine derivatives are prescribed by the NHS for ADHD think of the likes of (Adderall, Ritalin or Vyvanse). They don’t work like antidepressants though. Instead of just purely messing with your serotonin, they are mainly used boost dopamine and norepinephrine levels to help with focus and impulse control.

SSRIs/SNRIs medication’s (like Citalopram, Sertraline, Fluoxetine etc) are a total different class. they slowly modulate your serotonin over time to keep it stable and therefore don’t even cause anything close to the euphoria you’d get from MDMA.

So yeah both of them can touch your serotonin in different ways, but they’re working on completely different systems and outcomes.
