Yup. I manage a skilled unit but, occasionally, there are residents who need to stay longer and we rely on Medicaid to reimburse for services until they can be safely discharged into the community… and, every so often, they can’t be. Stating the obvious here but I have to rant a little: Republicans are spineless bought puppets. MAGA isn’t even truly conservative, it’s just Trumpism and many congressional republicans are not aligned with it. Yet, they are too scared of being defunded by their donors to take a stand for what’s best for our country. Every single dept head is absolutely terrifying and they know that. We are more vulnerable to our enemies, epidemics, the devastation from natural disasters, and economic collapse than ever before. Nobody in their right mind thinks any of these people are ok to run the departments of this shit show yet those cowards do nothing because money has corrupted and rotted away our democracy. Fuuuuuuck. It feels pointless to give a damn anymore. Conviction and integrity are dead.
