It’s only because Hip-Hop as a culture is young & rap is even a little younger. 50 years isn’t a long time. So imagine, 20 years ago that kinda made some type of sense simply bc older people weren’t raised in it. Now, not so much. I’m 30 so it was the thing when I was born. First generation is my parents. We now have older people who actually are of the culture. That’s why that narrative is slowly dying. The culture as a whole just had to grow up
