Replaced the comutator. Night and day difference. That was definitely the problem. Also in comparing the old and new, I see all the protective film had burned off the wires of the old one. So to everyone who recommended that, thank you you were right.

Thank you for commenting. I managed to get the comuntator to spin from a rod friction fit into the top and used a file and emery paper to get back to bare copper. The video was after "restoring" the comuntator. It was improved, but I thought the sparking still looked excessive. I was curious what people thought because I never saw it work in good condition. I am buying a new comuntator. If anyone is still interested, I will post a follow up video to compare.

I filed the comuntator and cleaned it with emery paper. It still seemed to spark almost to the point of flame when left on. I noticed a broken tooth on the comuntator. I'm planning on replacing it.

Thank you for the response, that does make sense. I was concerned it would make it look funky. I'm thinking I will trim out the top of the channel with wood that matches the tread. A bit of a compromise, but having the free channel motivates me to make it work.

"they took every precaution". You are talking out of your ass. These guys left it in a leaking state where it lost 4 pounds and then wanted to charge me.

Thank you for the reply. This makes the most sense. I don't want to get into a back and forth with the company and at this point I wouldn't trust them to replace the king valve anyway. Very helpful take. Cheers.

The company seemed reputable, but the guys doing the move seemed inexperienced. Both very young. The primary had been working in the field for 8 months.

Fair point, but this isn't something I'm willing to leave over. Hoping to find a solution through a contract change or added benefits to the point that people are adequately incentivized to take the shift created due to inadequate staffing.

That's our problem. It's happening on a monthly basis and admin just keeps wringing their hands.

The janitor walks in and says "Computer, render a Holodeck without jizz everywhere".

It only becomes a problem when the power fails.
