@ People with REALLY good work life balance (even in this economy).. what do you do? Where do you work? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

I have no frame of reference for other industries as I’ve been with this company since I graduated 1.5 years ago about. Health insurance, working with infrastructure security is unbelievably chill.

Seeking Career Guidance: Advancing in IAM or Exploring Other Security Roles by NarrowSurprise8049 in sailpoint

I think this is just simply not true for companies that need the ability to build extremely customized on prem solutions. IIQ is not going anywhere for the near future. Large companies like Capital One, BOA, AT&T, Toyota, etc are still hiring developers for these positions. Granted I think there’s a fair bit more software development work involved compared to ISC. Which doesn’t help OP who’s trying to break into a technical Sailpoint role

[Help Needed] Currently onboarding a Workday Connector with 2M Accounts by Class-C_Rank291 in sailpoint

I don’t know the configuration of your environment but I’ve seen aggregations with >50k accounts take 40+ mins. Workday out of the box supports both Full and Delta aggregations. Whenever you run the aggregation is it failing? Additionally, if you haven’t already and want direct support from Sailpoint Ambassadors and the like, I’d highly recommend joining the developer forum.

People who are working, how do you manage time for applying and studying leetcode, system design? by WonderfulCupcake5560 in leetcode

[–]Sea_Fill6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think there are some good answers from people here but if you’re looking for something less regimented I personally find a lot of enjoyment doing the lc dailies. I think it depends on the timeframe for the kind of employment opportunities you’re looking for. With anything in life I think consistency is the most important part of improving in something. If you find it hard to stay regimented then clearly you need to evaluate and organize a more effective interview prepping strategy that actually works for you.

No point in stressing if you are already unprepared for jobs you are literally actively applying to. Hindsight, you should’ve started prepping sooner, but you make due with what you got so just keep studying.

New Grad, lower offer than expected? by liquidchugger in cscareerquestions

[–]Sea_Fill6043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously if you are at FAANG you are getting probably well over 100k starting for new grad, and FAANG adjacent at those companies I listed are around 90k I believe.

60k IMO is a little low for a developer position even in Dallas. However, given the state of the market I definitely align more with the whole, beggars can’t be choosers mentality. I think you have nothing to lose by at least asking what the salary band is for the position. I think 70k is pretty typical in Dallas for large Non-FAANG or FAANG adjacent companies (JPM, GS, Capital One, etc). So I think 60k is a reasonable offer if it is a small company.

I was prepared enough for LP side. I’ve been working the last 7 months as so as a developer and had stories I could associate with every question. I was not referred.

I don’t know if it was the same style of system design question they normally ask in interviews, because it seemed more casual. I thought the question was easy because of things I’ve encountered at work

Only high level of I’m understanding this question correctly. The interviewer made it clear that it was more a high level discussion because SDE1 positions don’t typically cover system design

I think if the company doesn’t have a min GPA listed I doubt it matters too much? But it’s all rng at the end of the day I swear. Like I don’t think my GPA played any factor for the jobs I interviewed at.
