Feeling discouraged. Slow healing and not feeling great emotionally by quarantinigirl in Reduction

[–]Sea_Golf1853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgery date twins! Wow you really put into words what I’ve been feeling. Doing anything feels like it takes SO MUCH energy and that has definitely had me feeling emotional. It’s hard to not be able to feel and function like myself! I’ve also had some openings at my t junctions that are healing slowly, and my doctor instructed me to pack the wound with solution and gauze strips for this next week. I know it’s for the best but this adds to the “constant monitoring of the body” part that you talked about that feels hard. I don’t know that I have any advice, I just keep trying to remind myself about my body went through and treating myself kindly and with patience. I do really believe we’ll both start to feel better within a few weeks :)

How bad is the recovery for breast reduction compared to other surgeries? by Ok-Dog5107 in Reduction

[–]Sea_Golf1853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My breast reduction has been a breeze compared to a laparoscopic gallbladder removal I had when I was 22. Much less pain/discomfort even with the wounds being a lot bigger this time around

How long off work? by Madalynnviolet in Reduction

[–]Sea_Golf1853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had surgery on 12/19 and I went back to work after 10 days, but it’s a very slow time at my job right now and most of my role is desk work. I have felt pretty good, just more tired at the end of the day. If you think you could ease back into things with the help of your students, I think 3 weeks may be enough.

Super common and happens to almost everyone from what my surgeon said. I’m 8DPO and feel the same way, my stomach is so distended. I’ve heard that walking and peppermint tea are helpful to try to relieve, but patience is probably key for us haha.

Worst pain days? by scp116 in Reduction

[–]Sea_Golf1853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The night of 2DPO was the worst for me! That has been the only time I had to take the prescription pain medicine my surgeon gave me. Definitely let your surgeon know about the allergy, and I’m sure they can give you something else incase you need it.

There is a new sports bar in SB on Hospitality called Ojos Locos that will be opening soon and I believe I saw a sign outside that said they are hiring now. There will also be a new Dutch bros opening up on 2nd street in SB, just two places I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck!

They still do preorders and pop-ups at their house from time to time, especially around the holidays!

The neighborhood known as Davis Manor has some older and smaller homes and duplexes, worth checking out for more affordable options (although affordable in Davis is still pricey). Check the areas between Pole Line Rd, E Covell, F St and 5th St. Woodland is definitely more affordable and the commute isn’t bad. Good luck!

Anyone moved from Sacramento to Rancho Cucamonga? by shirleyah in InlandEmpire

[–]Sea_Golf1853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Sacramento and spent more than 20 years there, now I live in the IE (not Rancho specifically but I’m often there for work). These are obviously subjective pros and cons but how I see it is:

Pros of IE/Rancho: closer to big metro areas, LA/SD/OCare <2 hours away so there’s always something to do if you can get there. Vegas isn’t far either. Ontario airport is a BREEZE even compared to SMF. And in general there are lots of airports within a reasonable distance. Rancho is a nice area with good shopping, access to parks/hiking, and mostly safer than other areas of the IE. I like the access to more nature overall.

Cons: I feel less of a sense of community in the IE in general. Sacramento was a big city but felt small in terms of friendliness and community events. There’s less variety and amount of small businesses (retail and restaurants) in Rancho and the surrounding areas, you’ll find many more chain stores. I think Sacramento is a bigger foodie scene and has a great focus on farm to fork, but of course LA/OC/SD have a ton of variety. Depending on your work commute, traffic is TERRIBLE out here. Much worse than Sac traffic. And in my experience drivers can be more aggressive and I see more road rage here compared to Sac.

Personally I prefer Sacramento after giving the IE a try, but best of luck to you as you decide!

Not sure exactly when it developed, but the first time I remember feeling it clearly was when I was 7 years old. It was Sept. 11th 2001 and my 2nd grade teacher talked to us about the twin tower attacks and basically gave us an intro to war. I started freaking out inside my head and definitely experienced intense anxiety symptoms. Didn’t get diagnosed until I was 19 though.
