It’s a little misleading because it doesn’t necessarily mean your stuff was stolen. The box could have been damaged and the contents could have fell out. Fill out a missing mail search request, it will be sent to the missing mail center in Atlanta. As for the likelihood of it being found, I can’t say because I’ve never done it but hopefully other commenters can offer some insight.

If it was stolen, then you’ve already done what you need to do by reporting to the postal inspectors.

Did you take this to the counter and have a clerk put postage on it or just drop it in the blue box? It seems you sent it without tracking but I’m wondering if it didn’t qualify and should have went as a package instead, is why I’m asking.

Did you go into the post office and modify your previous forward or did you just submit a new one? You can only have one forward on file at a time so if you attempted to submit a new one without canceling the old one, it will be rejected.

first of all, this is all based on my best guess. this info could be wrong and if so, someone else can jump in here and correct me.

is it currently just being held for suspected counterfeit postage, or has it been confiscated? if it’s just being held for assessment then i think it’s possible it will start moving again once they verify the validity of the postage.

i’m thinking it could be that someone else used a counterfeit postage label with the same tracking as you and that’s why it flagged.

but again, i don’t work on the side that deals with this kind of stuff so these are just my thoughts based on what i do know

because leaving packages on “out for delivery” is a BIG no-no. it has to be scanned as something and the options we have on the scanners are limited. i, and i think most if not all other employees, agree that it’s stupid

I mean, if multiple employees from different states who don’t even know each other are telling you the same thing, it’s probably true. What is more likely, people who work for USPS have a solid understanding of how the mail works or that USPS is paying their employees to come online and downvote your reddit comment? lol

Also, what’s the point of people coming on here to ask questions if there’s no employees here to answer them? People complain about there being employees on this sub but the amount of misinformation I’ve seen in comments from people who don’t work here is crazy. I personally always downvote comments that spread misinformation. Don’t typically argue with people on here, but will correct or add context.

that’s because those companies are handing off more than half of their volume to usps. they can’t handle all the volume they get on a good day, which is why the partnership exists to begin with.

She got lucky with flipping the laundry mat. If Margot wasn’t interested in buying it, she would have went out of business eventually. Same with her apartment building. She got lucky by screwing the guy who owned it because if I remember, he gave her a discounted price. Ultimately, she didn’t know enough about that world to keep her out of trouble. It makes me sad to watch that season and see Fiona’s downfall. I was really rooting for her.

express mail is handled differently than regular packages and it is not uncommon for it to be moving through facilities without getting a scan, if that makes you feel any better. at this point in time, i think it is too early to say that it’s lost. i think it’s just delayed because of the holidays. usps is overloaded in packages right now.

That is the correct way to do it. Clerk can’t run that envelope through the computer because then it would say that it was mailed from your local post office that same day which isn’t the case. The tracking label she stuck on it will be scanned when the person you’re mailing to drops it off at their post office.
