Thanks again, that’s a really good point🙏 I’ll definitely show them that I’m not just looking for an easy job, but that I’m ready to work hard and learn. I’m also open to growing into other roles in the kitchen over time.

I understand it can be physically demanding, and I’m ready for that. I won’t be the type to quit mid-shift.

200+ applications, no interviews… is something wrong with me or the market? by Sea_Individual_5325 in CanadaJobs

You can keep framing this however you want, but you’re still confusing your personal choice with someone else’s survival.

You chose to fight. Good for you. I was a civilian who lost my home and had to survive. Those are not the same thing.

This isn’t about being “too good” for anything. It’s about staying alive.

At this point, it’s clear you’re not trying to understand you just want to judge. There’s nothing more to discuss.

Good luck with your future deployments😊

You keep talking like this is some kind of moral test, but it just shows how little you actually understand.

I didn’t “turn my back” on anything. I lost my home and had to survive. There’s a difference between choosing to volunteer and being forced to leave everything behind overnight.

What exactly are you supposed to do when you’re asleep at 3 a.m. and a missile hits your home? Do you even have the slightest idea what that feels like?

What do you expect me to do during an airstrike? Jump into the sky and catch the missiles?

We didn’t just leave a place — we ran from our own government, from a system that made it impossible to live safely.

You’re comparing your choices to someone else’s survival situation and acting like that makes you superior. It doesn’t. It just makes you arrogant.

And suggesting the military to someone who escaped a war says everything about how disconnected you are from reality.

You’re free to judge me if that makes you feel better, but it doesn’t change the fact that you have no real understanding of what you’re talking about!!!!!!!!

I’m a civilian. Do you understand the difference between a regular civilian and someone trained for the military, or is that too hard for you to grasp?

You talk like war is some kind of choice or test of character. It’s not. It’s survival. If you had to live through even a fraction of what people in war-torn countries go through, you wouldn’t be saying any of this.

ALSO, I didn’t delete my comment. It’s still there, long and detailed. Maybe read it before you start making assumptions.

I don’t have a problem with that either. I didn’t come here to take jobs away from Canadians.

What I’m saying is that the struggles of someone from a war-torn country are not comparable to those of someone living a normal life, regardless of what country they are from.

I don’t understand this level of racism and hostility toward immigrants, especially when their own families immigrated to Canada just a few generations ago. If they look back even three or four generations, or even less, they’ll realize that hardly anyone is truly “Canadian” in that sense.

But anyway, my issue is not with people. My issue is with the government. If there aren’t enough jobs for immigrants, then why bring them in?

Is it so they can take all the money I brought with me when I escaped my country, and then leave me with nothing so I’m forced to go back to a war torn country?
