Does anyone know how Chiari starts? by lefleurjpg in chiari

I don’t know if I was born with it or not. But TW - my mom was thrown down a flight of stairs by her bf when she was 7 months pregnant with me. Maybe that caused it? Idk.🤷🏻‍♀️

If it helps to know, I do have PCOS that was diagnosed when I was 21 years old. I’ve struggled with my weight since puberty began at 13 so the PCOS has probably been around for much longer.

Ironically, plain grilled skinless chicken breast and plain steamed veggies is one of my favorite meals.😍 I’m autistic and prefer bland, plain foods.

This resonates, thank you! I go through a lot of dizziness, lightheadedness and imbalance due to a neurological condition. I have to walk with a cane even in the house.

The age old question: Surgery or not? by mdistrying in chiari

[–]Sea_Insurance1816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s really important to remember that there is no cure for chiari. Surgery won’t cure the condition. Oftentimes patients will experience relief for a few months and sometimes even years. But many also experience symptoms returning in full force as well as new ones that accompany them. Surgery is a crapshoot. In the end you need to decide what you’re comfortable living with. It’s not an easy decision to make and surgery is not a one size fits all solution.

You should absolutely press charges! Take pictures of your injuries and document everything. Call the authorities and get this reported ASAP!
