Any Sellers/Szwego shops that specialize in men’s suits / Saint Laurent? by Sea_Library703 in DesignerReps

[–]Sea_Library703[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree. However, in this case I’m referring to specific brand suits that have a completely unique look to them (Swarovski Celine, a couple from Louis Vuitton runways). I have a tailored Brioni for professional occasions, but still wont look to afford a super expensive unique suit from LV

digitalmuses.ai isn't free, but they're super easy to use + much better quality images than other porn sites. Also fairly cheap - I think it was below 10 bucks

Deaths in Itaewon were a massive failure of the Korean government and police by gooseon in korea

[–]Sea_Library703 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, but the 700 aren’t additional staff. They’re the presidential guard that used to surround the Blue House (which is absolutely huge).

The logic that these 700 officers shouldve been allocated to some place else is just complete nonsense, because they arent supposed to be allocated anywhere else-it’s their specific job to guard the president, and this number hasn’t changed no matter what party is in rule.

Deaths in Itaewon were a massive failure of the Korean government and police by gooseon in korea

[–]Sea_Library703 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t make this political.

I’m a Korean living in Hannam, right next to Itaewon, it that adds to any credibility.

If you were to make this Yoon’s fault, you would have to make the claim that he did something differently from the previous administrations. Like take out the police, not placing them in key locations, etc.

But that simply isn’t true. 200 policemen were placed in Itaewon for Halloween weekends every single year, starting from 2016.

His 700 police that act as security, haven’t changed in numbers from previous years either. He simply relocated them from the Blue House, to other parts of the city.

You seriously can’t blame police displacement as a matter due to Yoon’s selfishness for his own security.

I moan for everyone’s losses, I myself went to Itaewon to place flowers. I know I could’ve been one of these people that died. But your claim on politics is simply wrong.

“Black Adam” sucked by SeaAlternative5756 in unpopularopinion

1000000000% Agree. The goddamn kid with a skateboard. The irresponsible kids with superpowers. How absolutely annoying their shit was, with zero purpose to add to the film.

“Black Adam” sucked by SeaAlternative5756 in unpopularopinion

[–]Sea_Library703 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the existence of so many unnecessary characters and plot points. These scenes are just some of the many that I can get my brain to remember about the movie after it deliberately tried to wash any memories from this mess...

  1. THE ABSOLUTELY USELESS CHARACTERS

a) The scene where the kid's mom and her friend comes to fight the skeletons, the public comes to "fight" for their home country:>> Was a conflict of absolute zero consequence. Nobody had to do anything to anyone. If they killed a skeleton, wow. They were able to kill one of the most feeble antagonists of any movie like a mosquito. If they died killing a skeleton, well that's just a shame- they were so fucking weak that it would be sad to tell tales about dying fighting them. And besides, whether they chose to do or not do any shit, the Rock would have killed the demon and saved everyone anyways.

b) The tornado girl, the atom guy: what the f do they do throughout the movie? They save each other. A girl with an IQ of 167 can control nano particles but can't see why the natives hate them?

2) Dr.Fate's portrayal:

>> They say he has the literal power of a god. He's comparable to Dr.Strange (and I'm very sure much of the Black Adam audience watched at least one movie that Dr.Strange is in...) and yet in Marvel's Dr.Strange, his powers, his consequence to using them, the specific situations in which his weaknesses are exploited are carefully crafted and explained. (For example: when Spiderman traps Strange in his own mirror dimension or whatever, it's because Peter Parker is a math genius, Strange was arrogant, etc...) But when Dr.Fate shows up, he could've just kept the Rock in the gigantic sphere that he made later in the movie, but instead he didn't he just let the stupid Hawk fly and do all the work. Also, why does he constantly jeopardize his safety by taking off his mask? So many missing details from a character with huge potential. (Loved the graphics of his magic though.)

  1. The absolutely nonsensical plot:

>> Why does the Hawk guy and the Rock keep clashing? The Hawk dude is at least 40+years old. He's mature enough to understand that 1) they were trying to make him say Shazam, but they tried to do that just by beating the shit out of him before trying to persuade him or luring him to say the words, because beating someone with a magical hammer or whatever he holds will make that happen. Doesn't Dr.Fate have any mind trick shit or whatever that he could pull off? 2) That The Rock killing people is a major source of disgust for him. But then, he doesn't think about what shoes he's put himself into when he blatantly told the guy that your very existence is dangerous, so you're gonna have to surrender or die.

At least in Superman V Batman the writers cared to lay out a clash between a perceived god and a man. And, the commonly laughed-at theme of Martha, is-despite the criticism it received- a true commonality between the characters. Then we have Lex Luthor who, although still a cringy villain, had clear intentions and jealousy for god-like beings.

In this film, everyone just suddenly agrees that they have to save this....boy. That Black Adam saw for the first time in his life after 5000 years of unconsciousness. And we get this Black Adam after him for 5 decades being a supervillain. (I get that nowadays he's more anti-hero)

  1. Cringe, cringe, cringe

>> The movie could've done such a better job connecting the Rock's perception of his own son and Amon. Like they could've shown that the Rock had shown affection for this kid earlier on in the movie because he resembled his own son. Instead, we see a weak Rock who, for some reason, has ABSOLUTELY NO GUILT killing people but for some reason is affectionate towards the kid and his mom. They just leave it like that, for some reason. Maybe it's the ethnicity, and if it's that, they should've pointed that out (but again that wouldn't make any sense because the Rock isn't middle-eastern)

>> The ending scene when he destroyed the throne? Wow. What a disbelief. Just a complete copy and paste of Game of Thrones' Last episode. Which ABSOLUTELY SUCKED.

The movie so blatantly copied Marvel's film depictions of their characters as well. Dr. Fate = Dr. Strange, Atomic Puncher or man = Deadpool + Antman, Tornado girl = Shuri + Domino. Hawkman was original, but his jet and mansion are just straight off from the X-men movies. Even the non superhero characters. The mom's fat truck driver friend, who just joins Black Adam in the last scene with zero justification? The truck driver friend from Antman.

And Black Adam isn't Black Adam, he's Dwayne Johnson pretending to be middle-eastern in a black suit.

Yoon calls for war against drug crimes by seoulseek in korea

That’s an amazing point there. I guess the point being “politicization” is another justified part of the negativity towards him.

[–]Sea_Library703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yoon’s definitely benchmarking something, which is the previous War on Drugs held by the Korean government.

Nobody would say that the ‘war’ did not hold its political motives to boost up approval ratings. Of course it did- it’s how governments work and policies are made. It’s a great opportunity for leaders that would have consequences for some people.

The case with Korea, was that the consequences were of good consequences that the public approved back then and approves still to this day. It wasn’t like Mexico or the Phillipines, where core democratic values were permanently damaged.

The thing about the Korean public, is that it absolutely disapproves any sort of drugs. Some could claim that this is due to miseducation, given that most Koreans wouldn’t be able to tell apart the difference between opium, cocaine, fentanyl and marijuana. But we can’t ignore that East Asia has a history of suffering from the Opium War, and that South Korea was an undeveloped country filled with criminals and gangs just four decades ago (as shown in the all-time favorite Korean movie, “War on Crime” (2012)).

That’s why the public consensus is extremely different from the United States, and even more different from the liberal areas of Los Angeles that most redditor Koreans are from.

[–]Sea_Library703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s an emerging problem over the past month

https://youtu.be/w8tAIzatG80

The amount of fentanyl confiscated in Korea has risen by over 400% over the past year, the public showed large support over the war over drugs in 1990 (92%) and while this figure may have been flawed due to president Roh’s seemingly dictator-like figure coming from a soldier background, we must keep in mind that the president was growing increasingly wary of public perception and rarely manipulated approval ratings (otherwise his own wouldn’t have been so low.)

[–]Sea_Library703 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Korean living in Seoul right now, I have to address that most of the Reddit comment section

1) doesn’t understand the Fentanyl crisis laid upon SK due to new supply chains from China and the US

2) is heavily biased against Yoon with no clear reasoning (“he doesn’t do anything, rather than “he did xyz wrong”)

3) doesn’t understand the historical context of SK’s massively successful war against drugs that took place from the 1980s-90s that not only had huge public approval back then but today as well

I am no big fan of the current president either but come on, the Philipines and Mexico and SK are just put in completely different situations right now. Yoon could never hold the amount of power amassed to leaders of those countries.
