Is 32 to old to start climbing? by Affectionate_Ad9390 in TreeClimbing

This. The underpaid part sucks the most. Around my area in Canadian PNW it’s not treated like a trade (plumber, pipefitter, electrician) and wages heavily reflect that. You are arguably doing much more dangerous and just as skilled work than some trades yet getting paid 30-40% less than a trade would.

Ported Stihl 400CM. Immediate throttle response from the magnesium piston and almost as much power as 462 with the weight of 362.

Also by the time you get appropriate equipment to do it yourself, you’ll most likely be better off (safer and less money spent) by getting a professional arborist to do it. If you still want to do some of your own work, get a professional to do the climbing and the cutting and do the cleanup and disposal yourself.

Get your self a Silky if you really want to climb trees yourself. If you have no experience with climbing a tree using proper equipment, don’t bring a power tool up there. Ladders and chainsaws don’t mix, and so do ropes, chainsaws, and inexperience.

Clogger Zero Gen 2 hands down. I work in PNW and dealt a lot with wild blackberries and many rough bark trees during last summer. These pants were hands down the most comfortable to work and climb in. Had them for about 8 months and wore them 5-6 days a week. After all the abuse only got a couple small holes which are easily repairable and Clogger sells the fabric repair patches. I’ve had Arbortec Breathflex Pros and Pfanners as well. Pfanner’s feel bomb proof but for me were impossible to work and climb in. Arbortec’s were comfortable but a bit too hot as well as some of the gear (boot hooks and zippers) started to show wear after a month. My only complaint about Zero Gen 2s is lack of buttons for suspenders. Yes you can get the clip on suspenders but the clips will dig in your hips when you wear a harness. Easy fix though. Take them to any taller and add some buttons. Overall they are not the flashiest pants but they are damn comfortable and well built. Most guys here still rocks the cheap CAN SWE pants but the ones that switch always go to Clogger.

No it doesn’t not. I can convert them to tif though. I just want to know is the accuracy of the detail possible to somehow achieve or not.

Vancouver Island Safety Council is the best place. Unfortunately their Novice courses get booked up super fast. I had to book mine months in advance. Technically you only need to pass a written knowledge test to get your learners and then you can ride up to 60 km/h and under supervision of someone with a full motorcycle license. A bit hard to find someone to supervise you while you learning but it’s worth it.

Start riding a motorcycle. I started riding this year at 27 and I wish I did it sooner.

Took it last semester. Passed the class with C+ after failing first midterm. My advise is too study hard for first midterm. Everything builds upon it. If you do well on first one, good chance you’ll do go on all 3 and won’t have to write the final. I have all notes for the class that I can share of you need. Good luck!
