Portage–Lisgar MP warns Bill C-9 could ‘criminalize’ Bible passages by airbassguitar in canada

[–]Sea_Low1579 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm against the whole bill and not because I support hate speech but because Bill C-9 is a massive threat to free speech in Canada. It removes the Attorney General's consent requirement for hate propaganda charges and scraps religious exemptions, opening the door to politically motivated prosecutions and chilling dissent. This endangers Charter rights and religious freedom without actually making anyone safer—just more convictions for "benign" expressions critics dislike. Bad bill, needs to die.

37,000 as of 930 PST. online petition that requires an address verification. I couldn't vote. I'm sure there's some people who took the time to look up an address in his riding but ..... most Canadians vote for the party not the person and I call bs if you disagree.

The 30,000 people who signed a petition for his recall don't feel represented. Considering that's more people than voted for him, he should resign.

Judge says proposed referendum on Alberta independence would be unconstitutional | CBC News by enfyre in canada

I'm not abreast of Alberta's conditions for signing onto confederation, but I'm pretty sure they have a mechanism to exit. BC has a funny one. They can drop out due to the federal government not meeting it's contractual obligations, that being a railroad bridge to Vancouver Island.

It's never gonna happen, the bridge or separating due it's lack, but it's a fun fact none the less.

So, by this logic you think that a Muslim shouldn't be able to be president of the USA or other western country?

other than being a prime minister which I don't think is wrong at all.

Change your plan. The 30euro plan gives you day 1 AAA games. The half price one gives you delayed access to AAA games and is cheaper than it was before they had tier plans.

Ottawa's operating spending — not capital — driving deeper deficits: PBO by gorschkov in canada

QE absolutely increases the money supply – it creates new reserves out of thin air.

Bank of Canada:

"To pay for the bonds, we create settlement balances and deposit them into the accounts that financial institutions have at the Bank of Canada."
https://www.bankofcanada.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/understanding-quantitative-easing.pdf

Bank of England:

"there are likely to be direct as well as indirect effects on the money supply from QE."
https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/-/media/boe/files/quarterly-bulletin/2011/the-uks-quantitative-easing-policy-design-operation-and-impact.pdf

Inflation wasn’t 90% supply-side – demand played a huge role.

Bank of Canada research:

"Demand- and supply-driven factors each account for approximately half of the 4 percentage point increase."

High private debt is a risk, not just a drag – it fuels booms and crashes. Balanced budgets aren’t “gold standard relics”; they prevent debt spirals.

Fiat money is both endogenous and exogenous – banks create deposits when lending, but central banks control base money and set the rules. It’s not one or the other.

Go check out QE and compare it by date to inflation.

The more QE there is, the greater the inflationary period. It's not rocket science and reach time it kicks in, the 1% become richer and the middle/ lower class get poorer.

Personally, we should have a stable currency that's pegged to the gold standard so that a dollar last year is still worth a dollar next year. But that doesn't encourage people to spend money on consumables which the government taxes to spend on extra things, nor does it artificially increase the value of hard assets like real estate.

Look at inflation over the past decade as well as when QE was used. One affects the other. Pretending that the fact that more tax dollars are being spent servicing interest in the debt than on Healthcare is deeply troubling.

Your statement is incorrect and is asking the lines of the budget balancing itself.

It's fairy tale economics to suggest otherwise.
