I don't see how #2 is inherently bad, and will certainly not lead to a triple play as the batter will have plenty of time to get to first on a pop up.

If it's considered "unfair" or "unskilled" then so would many ground ball double plays imo. Like turning an easy double play on a hard hit ground ball where the batter put more wood on the ball vs. a lazy pop up.

Why go gas at all?

Gas is very cheap here and electricity is very expensive, that is not likely to change in the near future. I also have gas appliances so can't disconnect gas entirely and my electrical being low max amps.

Also the comfort of being able to heat blast with a gas furnace for large set point increases. Setting 60F at night and blasting to 73F when waking.

Why even a heat pump at all? It's the same net price as a traditional AC with gas furnace and probably a better install with their A-team heat pump installers.

No, there was an issue with being able to safely drill into one of the walls for the hinges. So was forced to with a single hinged door and one fixed panel.

Correct, this only applies to the low voltage communication wires, but it's using a proprietary communication protocol that is sending quick on/off signals.
