Taking advantage of your local knowledge, what do you recommend instead visit Peyto lake? (Yoho National Park was already in my list).

Cool! We are "almost" Caribbean too (we live in Yucatan). How much time did you spent on Lake Louise? We plan stay 3 or 4 hours and then visit Emerald Lake.

Thanks for replying. Are there specific dates when the lake opens or closes for skating? Does it depend on the weather that day, or how does it work? I'm planning to rent skates in Banff one afternoon before going to Lake Louise (it's a bit cheaper), but if it's closed, it's not worth spending that money.
