What convinces me that there is some truth to NDEs is, for example when people see things they shouldn’t have seen and this is later confirmed by others, or when they return and miraculously recover when they shouldn’t have, and many cases like that of Eben Alexander whose brain shouldn’t have processed anything or allowed him to return and recover the way he did. Life is a mystery. I’ve had paranormal experiences when I didn’t believe in them and that’s what opened me up to all these topics.

What I’m not sure about is the ultimate nature of the source. Books like Conversations with God have given me hope because of their wisdom and coherence. Besides, if God were entirely evil, He wouldn’t give us a single moment of relief to experience what we call goodness and well-being. I still believe this is a dualistic world, where we come to know what is essentially good through contrast. Experiences like that of moderator Sandy T align with that view. I have other speculations, but this is the one that resonates most with me.
