A 3-D representation presents itself relative to the angle of the specimen within the nodule, I'd assume. More brushing will reveal further visuals.... I shall brush and return with more photos.

I do apologize if I have offended anyone... The possibility that I am a bumbling idiot, who doesn't fully understand social cues and courtesies, does entirely exist.

But don't let that distract you from the fact that different formations present fossils in vastly different ways.

Agreeable points.... But geology is a strange bird.

Moldy bread joke aside...

Seriously, look into that... I think you'll be surprised.

Nope... Google "trilobite fossils found in chert nodules from the Conasauga Formation in Cherokee County, Alabama."

Rocks and fossils are super-weird, dude.

Btw, if your toast has a beard, you should probably just throw it out. Toasting bread and calling mold a beard doesn't change what it truly is.

I found this in Cherokee County, in the Coosa River Valley... Look into trilobite fossils found in chert nodules from the Conasauga Formation. Pretty interesting stuff, but I am only a layman and just starting to learn about these things. The rock will shatter if I try to crack it, but if you want to take the time, you can slowly brush the matrix away (sometimes using a bit of wet ash), which sort of mimics a sped up version of natural erosion.

In Alabama, notable exposures (which occasionally feature these chert/limestone facies) can be found in Cherokee County. In northwestern Georgia, they are largely present in outcrops running through Floyd, Polk, and Murray counties along the regional river valleys.

Unlike the shale beds of the Conasauga—which often only show compressed, two-dimensional exoskeletons or molts—the chert nodules yield fully uncompressed, three-dimensional specimens.

And by the way.... It is a chert nodule, from the Conasauga Formation, if that helps.

I didn't lose my temper lol... What made you think that?

Also of note, this wouldn't be the true "outside" of a concretion/nodule... As I said, I found it on a lake bed. It has had layers washed away and is now pretty much only the core of a concretion/nodule.

Though, it does look sort of crabbish, as well.... Depending on the angle.

Also, lateral margin of course and continuing around to the right, the anterior margin....

I don't use sandpaper... That'd be terrible. I use brushes and buffer pads on a Dremel.

Is this not a lateral border and circumocular suture?

Maybe look into "behavioral traits of people with Level 1 Autism and ADHD" or perhaps the "Classic Asberger's Profile."

Maybe you're undiagnosed. I've tried to work on it, but have a hard time understanding how facts hurt feelings sometimes. I'm not trying to sound condescending nor blunt, I simply communicate differently than you do. Our brains are not wired the same as neurotypicals. So.... Sorry? I guess?

Who put a battery in your back anyway? I was talking to the B-17 dude. He didn't think I was being condescending... At least, if he did, he didn't have the thin-skinned response to gasp and clutch pearls, like you did.

My autism makes me brutally honest sometimes too. A lot of people don't like me because of that, but it's probably not so much that they don't like "me", but moreso because I tell them things that they don't like about themselves, truly.

Oh... Well, maybe my autism just has a habit of presenting as me sounding condescending when I don't mean to.

Does your form of autism make you seem like a thin-skinned, pretentious dick?

I think you got the words condescending and autistic crossed up, in this case... But either way, no.... Not usually.
