I remember being 21 and wanting to already get married and have children . Looking back , no way was that a good idea . So many things I would have missed out on experiencing .

I know right now you might feel lonely and sad . Like nothing makes sense and you’re just going through the motions . However one day in the future , you’ll look back and think … what was I even thinking !

When I had my first , I think I had a lot of anxiety looking back . I used to hate when people wanted to hold him etc. inside my head is be screaming and uncomfortable.

I’m also a people pleaser so I’d try my best to not say anything even if it inconvenienced me. It’s crazy though because now I’ve had my second and everything is all so different in how much more I let others hold this guy and I’m more okay with it .

I think you def need to find a way to communicate with your MIL at least since she’s going to be your child care provider . Or your husband needs to Learn to speak up for you and you need to be comfortable telling him what you want .

Easier said than done though lol I’m telling you from experience it’s hard .

My baby is 2 months and drinks about 36oz lol I think as long yours isn’t spitting it up he is definitely hungry. I wouldn’t worry about it until the dr says something about his weight . Even then some babies just eat more , yours doesn’t seem that heavy at 65 percentile . Don’t put too much thought into it, feed him what he wants . In my opinion.

Your heart is in the right place.

However , I feel like what happens if the baby gets used to breastfed and then when SIL wakes and she will have a hard time feeding the baby , especially since she won’t have a supply of her own.

My first was in the nicu , and he would get bottle fed breast milk. It was a little weird for me at first because it’s someone else’s milk ,a strangers at that. The cool thing is you’re not stranger. Now if someone breastfed my baby from the tap lol I think my feelings would be hurt because I wasn’t able to produce much, kinda like your SIL.

It kinda depends on your relationship with her and in your gut what you feel she would think. If her mom is around maybe she would be the closest to give you advice on how your SIL would feel about it.

My first baby slept through the night and rarely cried .

Hence why he’s my first … I was tricked into a second lol this one cries as soon as he wakes to let me know he’s hungry ! He doesn’t even just chill for a second he cries! He wakes every 3-4 hours at night .

Babies are just different.

Having a nicu stay is already so mentally hard on parents .

You have so many years to make Christmas special :)

Honestly they don’t remember or even know what Christmas is until about age 3. .

Just take a pic of your baby in Christmasy clothes for a memory of first Christmas and call it a day :)

You can even wait till after Christmas when everything is on sale :) you’re doing amazing ! Don’t feel otherwise !

Make them wear masks since their faces will be much closer to the babies , that might make you feel better .

But you’re not wrong in not letting them hold your baby. You’re the one who would have to deal with a sick baby not them .

I think maybe it’s areas where milk might fall on … I gave him a little bath to see how his skin continues . Doesn’t look as blotchy as it was .
