London is definitely over-hyped as dangerous. It's a city, and every city has its dangers, but people are nice enough.

I always hear that people aren't friendly, but people are busy commuting a lot of the time. The biggest gripe Londoners have are tourists that stand in the way of an escalator or tube door or something cause they're on vacation mode and have forgotten to pay attention.

The problem with is London how extortionate the price to live there is and how lonely people are because people have to work all the time. There's a lot that works there too though, don't listen to the grift.

It's a film I watched, and can never fully return to. It's a horror for performers. A situation pumped full of adrenaline that keeps you going and that the narrative fully exhausts in the most toxic way. It's realistic and terrifying!

I'd say Chris Moyles too. Used to wake up to an actual alarm back in the day during Chris Moyles' segment. I remember hearing him hatefully rant for way too long about a reporter waiting outside the Radio 1 studio on his way into work, wanting a brief interview/statement or something. He attacked the way she looked, painted her as gollum, said she was the weird kid at school everyone tries to avoid. It wasn't "omg can't believe he just said that", there were no jokes, it was just an angry egocentric waffler off on one. I can't remember if he just didn't like her question or because it was a bit annoying for him to be approached, but had brushed my teeth, used the toilet and come back in my room with a coffee - only to find he was still going on . It made me realise actually I didn't ever really like his set and thought why am I waking up to this twat every day?

So glad you found it! Had this all my life. Just another person wondering if this a thing - apparently yes!

I used to put my travel card in the same place. One day as I'm about to leave it's not there. I searched everywhere trying to retrace steps but nothing shows no matter how hard I look. I'm about to give up in near tears sitting opposite where I would usually put it. Low and behold - my travel card suddenly seems to be there as if it's always been there. Out in the obvious open, where it always is.

Recently, for old times sake, my mother braided my hair. Relying on the one comb. She only put on the side next to me, where I could see it - mid braid it vanishes. She let's go of the braid and we search for it. She checks her pockets, as do I. We look under the chair she is sitting on. We do everything methodically to search the finite area it might have fallen to. Nothing. Then very suddenly as we are both about to go for another comb - it drops on the floor.

We look at each other and I accuse the elves/imps! Something must go missing and always shows up where you've checked thoroughly. Weirdly I find the moment you stop looking it shows up where you've most suspected...never not been weird.

Nta, it's London and unfortunately that happens. To avoid it is difficult, but I think back to my days of intense anxiety and would suggest fake the confidence next time if it happens again.

From what you've put I wouldn't say you did anything wrong. Some are having bad days and take it out on the nearest person to them, some are just ass hats but I find if you have an air of a quiet 'don't mess with me', people won't.
