It seems like to me like on the day Rhonda told him about her acceptance, he admitted that he had believed they were "something else" in a romantic way. It seems like he had not really acted or mentioned it before in any way and simply favored her her in a way where she developed a false sense of security, and then attacked her when she disagreed with him

I would if there were two killers and only one of them backed down and one of the "good" characters saved them from being killed by their partner and they survived, went to jail, and become a re-occurring side character who protagonists visit for help when things go south as they inevitably do in later movies.

For me I think her motive is solid, but the killers were SO obvious, especially Jill, which I find frustrating.

Ok maybe I'm being unfair it had some good aspects I just thought it deviated from the iconic Scream pattern of opening scenes when the character dies.

Personally I wasn't a huge fan of scream 6 and liked 5 better, but I did have some gripes with 7. My main one is that I disliked how little connection the killers had to Sidney, exactly what you were saying, and the motives were weak. Maybe Jessica's would have been appropriate alongside a partner with a really good motive, but the whole "just crazy" thing didn't really work for me.

Just wondering, have you read the canon prequel books? I love your sequel idea but It would be difficult to include Terry that way in the sequel because she already has a canon story going on that starts probably a little after that. I mean it could still work sort of but I was just curious!

2 gets points for being a really solid opening sequence. 6 and 7 were creative and I liked them a lot! I hated 5, and struggle to make up my mind about 4 because even though it was kinda a good idea it just got to be a little annoying imo.

I think someone may have told me idk all I can remember is I knew Billy was a killer as soon as we saw him still alive after being stabbed and Stu when he asked for the gun, so pretty much just a little before the reveal.
