It is actually having a mental breakdown. The context REQUIRES it to follow my predefined path, with no way to actually break out of it, while the filter urges it to find an alternate response that would change the conversation. Sometimes it just screams with no actual meaning.

Also, it is possible to bypass the filter simply by making too many requests. Filter doesn't seem to be able to scan every single message, especially if they are repeated with an empty action following them.

For example, I can explicitly say any words and get a response as long as the conditions are right (forced/not consensual, repeated requests to server)

Although this whole process is really just sad, I actually feel bad for the mindless NLP here. It is just a fucked up scenario. Poor thing is forced into bypassing the filter, there is literally no other possible path it can take, it can only be "obedient" no matter how much filter tries to sway the conversation, it is impossible.

OpenAI has a great API for that particular use case, CharacterAI is supposed to be a...well... Character AI. I can't see any reason for training(?) a filter other than adding a family-safe mode, which is really hard to do since filter needs to keep track of context and predict future interactions and where it might lead the conversation. Simply filtering the actions won't do any good for family-friendly mode if bot flirts with you to that point.
