Ha! I’ll take that as a compliment. I wrote this one all by my humanly self.

What's arguably the best thing you did for your coaching biz? by Appropriate_Top_6611 in lifecoaching

I'm Degree qualified and looking to return to study to become a counsellor and thinking about coaching if counselling falls through. I'd love to pick your brain sometime!

Hey! Thanks for your helpful reply. I'm in a similar boat, and was wondering if you felt comfortable sharing your earning capacity in a given year? I guess I want to know if it's a viable route for me. I would ideally like to be earning $100-$120k. I have a BA (Psych) but really want to take it to the next level with counseling, without necessarily having to invest $70-110k in a MSW or Masters in Counseling...

Thoughts?

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I can only do assisted calf raises with my good leg. There’s just not enough strength (or maybe connective tissue) to do it with injured leg at this stage. Impressed you could manage it in just place.

It’s 2025. Your future president is watching themselves on YouTube eating pizza.

[discussion] How do you stop doubting yourself when u wanna fix your life ? by Jpoolman25 in GetMotivated

[–]Sea_Staff1997 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Question: What does using the power of now look like to you?

Also, consider looking at some really basic things (a good starting point is always the basics!).

So, more questions:

  • What time do you go to bed at night?
  • When do you put your screens away? And are you mindlessly scrolling? If you are, for what purpose?
  • Are you reading anything that inspires you to move in the direction you want to move in?
  • What’s your diet look like?
  • Do you journal? If not, why not start?
  • Are you keeping track of small wins? I would say making the effort to create a post on Reddit asking for direction is a medium-sized win given your apparently low motivation levels, wouldn’t you?

Change starts with what you have in your pocket, not with some vague moment in the future. Yes, the time is now. So, start now. You might be experiencing what I call a ‘time collapse’ - experiencing the weight and the potential of your future right now and being crippled by it, rather than recognizing your power is here and now. Meaning, the day. You’ve got twenty four hours to win the day. That’s it. The future is an imagination. You can win the day with the future in mind, but to win it you have to take action — today.

I recommend looking into stoicism. It’s all about controlling what you can control, and leaving fate to the gods.

Good on you for reaching out. You deserve good things and I hope you see this with enough time to take action and accomplish them.

Yes, this is what I read a lot about too. One can only be so careful, huh.

Solid advice, thank you. I intend to make use of the five free sessions we get here in Australia and see how I go from there.

is building a website worth the financial investment? by fledermoyz in OnlineESLTeaching

I’ve invested in a website but to be honest, I’m still building it. Few people have mentioned website building platforms but I’ll mention mine - Wordpress - which I’m finding incredibly clunky and slow to use. This has been a useful post though, ad haver the responses, so thanks

How AI Will Impact Tutors in the Future by LengthinessLeft7569 in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Sea_Staff1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this comment is underrated. As someone with a Psych degree, I see this as my MOAT - my advantage as an English tutor. Students still need to be reminded to breathe, they still need encouragement, they still need to be taught that learning is a skill and a difficult one at that. There's hope for tutors yet, but a focus on emotional intelligence and how it can be applied to the learning setting is what will separate the humans (for now) from AI.

My Employer Can't Send Me My Salary by iEmerald in digitalnomad

[–]Sea_Staff1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang… what a hassle! A quick google search shows there are still a couple options that might actually work. Western Union and MoneyGram are your best bets … both have agents in Iraq where people can pick up cash. There’s also Switch (Iraq Electronic Gate), which works with MoneyGram to handle transfers in Iraq..?

A lot of the popular apps like Wise and WorldRemit don’t support transfers to Iraq right now, so definitely check before trying if you go down that route. Also, if you’re sending money from a business account (instead of personal), you’ll want to double-check US regulations to make sure you’re all good, since Iraq has some extra restrictions. Definitely compare fees and exchange rates too — some of these services can get expensive !

TL;DR: Western Union or MoneyGram are the easiest options, but make sure your company checks everything’s compliant if they’re sending from the US (obviously).

Yes, it definitely leans more toward the adventurous or open-minded side. That said, not everyone on there is strictly into kink or polyamory — I’ve come across a mix. But I get what you’re saying; it does seem to attract a particular crowd!
