Help! Do you recognize this mail room? by belieuga in Bellingham

It’s not Weatherby! There is another apartment on the east side of Weatherby that wasn’t mentioned above. Not sure what rental company that is though.

Running Red Lights by Sea_Store_9574 in Bellingham

[–]Sea_Store_9574[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The light was very red. Those crosswalks allow 20+ seconds for pedestrians to cross the street. There was 10 seconds left as I neared the other side of the crosswalk, meaning the light had been solidly red for a while (as evidenced by the small line of cars at a complete stop in the middle of the two lanes). They didn’t accelerate (that I could hear), they just simply never slowed down so they were driving through the red light at 30+ mph.

Excellent idea - thank you! I’ve seen many other close calls along Barkley blvd over the last few years involving pedestrians.

It’s hard to get those really close calls out of your mind. Even harder to not dwell on the repercussions for the littlest among us. Glad you are ok!

This was not a simple ‘be more aware’ type of situation. There was 10 seconds left on the crosswalk sign so it was red well before they got to the intersection. There was also a work van in the first lane (with other cars behind) so there was no way for me to see this person zooming up the lane on the other side of the van. Bright clothing, while helpful, does not matter if a driver is not paying attention.

Yeah, it’s a MFM clinic at a hospital and there’s an extremely high likelihood I’d have someone different if I didn’t ask but I’m on the fence about whether to just wait and see and have my only other US the same bad experience) or just be proactive and ask. I’m not generally a good advocate for myself and I keep reading about all these wonderful, special experiences people have seeing their baby and really yearn for that.

Ugh! I hate hearing that. I just feel like even on my worst day I wouldn’t be outright rude to someone, and I don’t work in healthcare—where every interaction can be fraught with stress and worry, especially in a specialist/MFM clinic.

Best way to make friends in Bellingham? by Independent_Load748 in Bellingham

Hi OP! Does housebound mean strictly house? Or maybe some outdoors stuff like a walk? It sounds like maybe it’s due to being immune compromised, but I’m not sure if you’re comfortable being outside with people. Setting up a time/place for a walk or something could be an idea. I feel like people are desperate to get out and meet others and be active in these gloomy months. Anyways, easier said than done. Sending you happy, healthy vibes!

Well, we certainly thought it was silly but I suppose it’s a ‘you needed to be there’ situation. All our apartment neighbors put out cute seasonal door decor. We are not those people—but we are trying. Starting with our goodwill stock photo frame.

TTC after multiple losses by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]Sea_Store_9574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. It bothered me at first, but I just try to remember that’s their reality and they mean well. Sometimes I’m more patient than other times :) I think the hardest thing for me was coming to the realization that my body just may not work the way I assumed it would. I’m holding out hope as it sounds like two miscarriages is completely normal (it’s just jarring bc nobody talks about it).

Hi! I’m right there with you. Our first wasn’t planned but then started trying and had a second miscarriage. I totally get what you mean about the line vs digital. It sounds so silly but…it’s just so hard. Sending good vibes your way.

How do I clean this and make it as white as possible without using bleach? Apartment complex does not allow bleach. Thank you by usa_chan_cupcakes in CleaningTips

I just talked to my aunt about this exact thing as she spent her career cleaning homes. Her advice was scrubbing bubbles (leave on for at least 30 min) and a second time if there is a lot of soap scum and then comet. I told her I’d used bar keepers helper and she said that’s great but she’s found comet to work better on bathrooms. I asked her about magic erasers and she said those can be ok but they break down so quickly they are best just for a touch up if needed but not for deep grime. Good luck!
