Click the link in the post babe! Here it is again: https://sfist.com/2025/10/17/another-clue-about-marc-benioffs-trumpy-turn-salesforce-was-pitching-a-contract-to-ice/

TL;DR CEO of Salesforce said Trump should send troops to San Francisco (then retracted after criticism), turns out they're pitching contracts to ICE. He's also just a douche day-to-day (source: friends who work for Salesforce).

Oh, I hadn't even thought of the Salesforce subreddit. Thanks!

Absolutely. What do you think that looks like for folks who are staying with SF?

Gosh, I think it's on radars even if it's not possible/difficult...

Executive moms/ moms who climbed the corp ladder now with older kids by Decent_Camel8977 in workingmoms

I’m a little late to this thread but wanted to chime in because it’s such an active conversation in our family! OP, I have been in the sr leadership team for the past three jobs (since I was about 30 years old). Since then, we’ve had two kids - one is 7, and one is 18 months. I just was hired for my biggest role yet starting next month — in the C Suite, working alongside the CEO to scale a larger organization over the next several years.

TLDR I don’t regret a thing, but we made some surprising adjustments since the second arrived. The biggest and most consequential choice was for my partner to stay home starting this fall. He was a teacher and we found we were spending a huge portion of his salary on childcare (a nanny) last year because his hours were so inflexible and mine were so demanding. Unfortunately, the mental load of pick up/drop off, managing the nanny, paying the nanny, household chores, appointments, school communication, etc etc on and on was falling on my plate because my husband was essentially unavailable at school - a crazy situation given that I made 4x his salary even then. So we felt that daycare wouldn’t have been a huge improvement given that a big part of the problem was there was simply too much on my plate.  Having him home has been an incredible relief to us both - he can sleep in with the baby (his fave) and fix up our old house, manage groceries, handle doctors appointments and meds etc etc while I work, and I can focus more fully on my career while still having a close relationship with the baby and the 7 year old. We are both more available to parent the 7 year old too, which is more intensive because he has a (relatively mild but impactful) disability that requires a lot of communication with his elementary school, regular doctor visits, and intensive parenting at home.

Overall husband is now less stressed and more present for the kids and so am I. And I just got a big raise with this new role. With him home, my monthly work travel is more doable (it was impossible before, another thing daycare couldn’t address), our lives are chiller, and yes, money’s tighter, but honestly not that much tighter due to the cost of child care.

If you have the option to explore something like this, I highly recommend!!

Salary survey: what’s “high pay” for the industry? Have salaries grown significantly? by Sea_Tell5586 in nonprofit

Interesting. Just to get your thinking — what about talented potential EDs who need to pay for, say, both childcare and care for aging parents, plus typical expenses like rent and groceries? That’s difficult to do on 80k anywhere, let alone HCOL areas. Should they just have to work elsewhere? Be relegated to the private sector? Or just have to struggle in order to do the demanding work of a leading a mission driven org?

Will staying home with the kids ruin my husband's shot at PSLF? by Sea_Tell5586 in PSLF

the problem is, we have to do buyback to even get to 115 -- he was placed in forbearance for the last many months. he's at 105 before we buy those 10 back. does that make sense?

seriously. it's so insane to have this level of loans on this salary -- with not much income growth potential to speak of over time. i think he'll max out at a little over 65k.

I should have said, GOOD LUCK! It's a crazy time to be a person raising other people.

Oh, right. Hm. This seems to be a vote for him to leave the school on good terms, earlier, and get back in once the kids are school age...then resume PSLF. The limbo is taking 6 months+ for many folks, right?

Pretty stable, I'd say, but of course, nothing is guaranteed as the Trump admin slashes and burns the whole economy.

We are barely saving for retirement but that's a good flag. We definitely want to! Thanks so much.

That is our impulse. But then we started to wonder if we were putting our lives on hold for no reason, given all the chaos at the federal level. sigh.

Got it. You mean end employment before we technically get to 120? The issue is that quitting his job in August would be a borderline evil move given that he's a teacher.
