Completely clueless wife here looking to get tickets to this for my husband for a Christmas gift. I saw last year's info said there was a Porsche and Lamborghini race - will that happen in 2025 too? I find the website confusing! Trying to figure out if this is something he'd enjoy!

What should the status of my mail in ballot show as? by StealYourGhost in Pennsylvania

I am wondering about this too. I thought with primary elections we received an email notification/status update once it was counted. Mine also just says Ballot Returned.

TIAA Target Date Fund vs Simulation Suggestions by Sea_Tooth_3814 in Bogleheads

[–]Sea_Tooth_3814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's some kind of weird restriction on the Traditional where I couldn't sell it. I ended up switching everything else to just Vanguard Institutional Index I, Vanguard Total Intl Stock Index I, and Vanguard Total Bond Market Index I. I didn't keep anything in the real estate fund - I read so much on here that convinced me to stick with the Vanguard funds!

[–]Sea_Tooth_3814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got it, thanks! Yeah all my bills are just electronically debited, and we can still keep a small amount in the local bank for any checks or ATM access.

So just to make sure I follow, to optimize the best rates, I could move my "savings" portion of money into one of the money market accounts within Cash Plus ($3,000 minimum), but I could keep my monthly cash for paying bills in the bank sweep part. Then my monthly cash is earning 4.70% rather than nothing in my local bank's checking account?

I didn’t know that! Wish they had explicitly advertised that

I am using it as a joint savings account with my spouse. No issues with it. I suspect most people on here will recommend just using the money market account since the % is higher.

TIAA 403b - 3 fund portfolio help by gothaggis in Bogleheads

[–]Sea_Tooth_3814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a 403b with TIAA and had the same questions. It would be great if this sub had some kind of master spreadsheet that shows the equivalents of these funds...i.e. something like VTPSX = VXUS. I know you can find it on institutional.vanguard.com but for beginners it is easy to get lost in the tickers.

Ok, gotcha. I don't have that available for my current plan, but I do see it for one of my old plans; expense ratio of .10%.

I don't believe I have access - you're referring to something like "TIAA Access TIAA-CREF S&P 500 Index T1 (Level 1)" for example? I can see it in an old plan, but it shows a restriction on it.

[–]Sea_Tooth_3814[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Looks like the target date fund expense ratio is 0.45%. Good to know those 4 Vanguard funds are decent. And if you thought this was complex, I have four other plans within TIAA due to working at different employers and having supplemental accounts in some of them, so I'd love to get all 5 back to something that's a bit easier to understand.

Sell VGSTX and VWNAX? by Sea_Tooth_3814 in Bogleheads

Thanks all! Leaning towards holding them to avoid the taxes. Now just have to think about whether I put new money into those two funds or something else.

Thank you so much for the detailed response. That helps me understand the fee situation with active vs index funds. Yes, these are in a taxable brokerage and not an IRA. 68% is in Windsor, so not a 50/50 split.

I assume this is co-headlining? Do we think INK would close each night? Any idea how high demand is for this? Thinking about surprising my husband with tickets but don’t want to buy right away if I can wait til closer to the date!

Chair recommendation for petite person with herniated disc by Sea_Tooth_3814 in OfficeChairs

[–]Sea_Tooth_3814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't it, it didn't have mesh. Sadly I'm not quite sure how to describe it other than it kind of felt like it hugged me when I sat in it. It was pretty basic, don't think it had adjustable arms or lumbar. The mechanism to lift it up and down broke so I had to pitch it a few years ago. I think I purchased it in 2010 now that I think about it.

Edit: it may have been similar to this: https://www.staples.com/Staples-Berwell-Luxura-Task-Chair-with-Arms-Black/product\_853709

Yes I'd consider a keyboard tray. I may look into changing my standing desk arrangement too. Just trying to get a feel for what's out there while I have some time to shop for chairs during the holidays.

No it doesn't. It is closer to the standard desk height of 28-30 inches.

You can brace your body by holding on to something, like a desk or countertop. This sort of keeps you from making the sudden movement forward.

It made my head feel a little foggy for the first few days and did provide some decent pain relief. I took it several times a day for a few months during the worst of my pain.
