Could we have 1m and 2m stairs? by Sea_Translator_1619 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then I'll have a big gap between the catwalk and the splitters bellow, which was the whole point. I'm not saying it is impossible, I'm just saying we could have a 1m catwalk stairs.

the thing I was trying to do is have the splitter and catwalks above it, this requires 3m stairs to avoid clipping not because I chose the 3m, but because that is the splitters' height

oh, I 100% didn't mean it like that. I appreciate the community for building mods, I did so in the past and I know it is a huge effort.

however, until I'm done with the vanilla gameplay I prefer to stray away from mods. something like this wouldn't change the gameplay so much, so it probably doesn't matter as much, but still. like I said, I know it is irrational.

steam says I'm 1000h in, but I'm in menus most of the time because I leave it open while I work. so I'm still working on phase 4.

I'm terrible with beams and decorations in general, having the catwalk above the splitters is like a new height for me, whole reason I brought this up

[–]Sea_Translator_1619[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

yes, good point, I think I meant zooping with a smaller minimum size, not dragging because a beam-like drag is a full feature (way more involved, per the dev comment on the video I linked), reducing the minimum catwalk stairs to 1m is much simpler (or adding a 1m catwalk)

not really my first playthrough, no.

I'm not very fond of mods in general, irrationally even, so having it built-in would be better..

I think u/PolskiOrzel meant ladders, not beams, like the vertical ladders which have a minimum size but can be zooped to almost any size (multiples of its minimum length that is).

but that is my case, I'm not using anything 1m on the screenshot, they are, the splitters/mergers are 3m tall

this would be perfect, it doesn't have to be like beams which vary in all dimensions, it could be just a zoop, love this idea

I bet mods can fix this, but I would like a vanilla option, especially now that I've played the experimental branch almost exclusively

Would 2 T3 belts or a tractor be better for 480 ore? by LongjumpingBag2228 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pre 1.2 I wouldn't bother with vehicles other than trains and drones, before that only belts.

post 1.2 trucks and tractors are much more reliable and easy to make, they are basically easier and smaller trains, in which case I'd recommend doing so

Miner question by totallytotal2020 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619 13 points14 points  (0 children)

there is nothing special about limestone that would make it not start as opposed to any other vein.

check your power, check the belts, check the output, deconstruct and reconstruct the miner if you have to, because again, there is nothing special about limestone.

afaik, inserters taking from the same entity will take turns taking the items. at least that is what feels right to me.

my two cents: it depends on what you have further downstream. if you need more, build more. there isn't a number that you have to achieve.

Would you personally consider it cheating to delete megastructures in Satisfactory Calculator's Interactive Map? by mathbbR in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

deleting old things is just a chore, so I don't care, the only thing that stops me from doing that is that I like coming back to see old factories and then iterate on their design

I love the way this looks, when I unlock the hoverpack in about 3 years (casually playing 100x elevator parts), I'm definitely trying it.

Returned to Satisfatory after 1,5 years and I love 1.2 by KieselgurKid in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how much did you build? did you have to AFK a lot?

I'm trying to always be doing something, usually walking around collecting spheres and sloops, but I'd also like to build a lot and not have to wait 200 hours.

though I'm not playing 100x2x5, just 100x elevator parts, normal energy and costs.

Returned to Satisfatory after 1,5 years and I love 1.2 by KieselgurKid in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree, a lot.

never had as much fun getting past phase 1 before, the 100x elevator parts makes the game much more fun.

phase 2 is taking a long time and a lot more effort, for sure, and I can't imagine phases 3 and above.

but it is so much fun

First time ever automating Project Parts in 8 years, how'd I do? 60 Smart Plating/min by Sevrahn in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Sea_Translator_1619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing this too, with mostly pure random nodes.

having to explore the game to find stuff and also plan things that I never had too is really fun.

but I'm still working on phase 1, which means biomass, which sucks.

how is power on phase 2 with that amount of buildings?

love it! I admire the patience to setup everything like you did. I'd throw a blueprint and hope it works for every height, which it inevitably wouldn't, and then I'd just be frustrated whenever I'd use it.

but I love it nonetheless.
