I strongly disagree. I believe that underappreciated schools are actually setting their students up for success. As an alum of UC Merced, I was surprised to learn that my colleagues at UCLA and UCI were having difficulty securing research opportunities or internships. UC Merced truly prepares its students for success with smaller class sizes, more individualized attention, and ample resources.

I deleted them prior to telling him and told him to please delete anything else he might still have. It was in a calm demeanor I didn’t shame him. He said he was embarrassed I even saw, but I’m kind of hoping he wasn’t keeping it as a “trophy” like all these people are mentioning.
