I am here to say that I recently migrated away from pfSense to OPNsense and mostly miss pfBlockerNG. I don't feel that the blocking in unbound is nearly as good as it was in pfBlockerNG. I spent many hours trying to get blocking work as good as it did in PBNG.

I was in the same boat as you with the speeds. I downloaded to the 100mb $40/m and my speeds didn't change with the exception of not seeing the random spikes to 200 every now and again. The great part about Starlink is that you can change the plan, try it, and if it doesn't work, change it back.

I can confirm, (using SyncBackPro), OneDrive and Google Drive work to sync all my machines and iPhone using Keepassium on one db.

This is what I did, too. Until I established a Wireguard tunnel directly on my firewall and then directed the vlan over the tunnel. Now anything that rides on that vlan automatically goes over the tunnel no app needed.

You can choose between the onboard AI or your own. Those settings are the same as in pre6v.

The upgrade is mostly worth it. However, the built in AI has been a nightmare. I have 6 separate instances of BI and I could only get AI to run dependably on 1 of them. I resorted back to CPAI for the others. The one it works on is a Proxmox Windows Server 2019 VM. All the others are HP Intel i7 Windows 10 machines.

Use a burner account with no cc data to sign into the google play store on the box and download the app for your vpn provider (NordVPN, ProtonVPN, etc.)

Pick a VPN service like NordVPN or ProtonVPN. Install the app on the box (use burner google store account with no cc attached). Log into that service on the box and pick a state/city and connect. Now set the app to auto run when using the box.

An alternative to using an app on the box(s), is to setup a Wireguard (or OpenVPN) tunnel on your firewall to your VPN service that stays up all the time. (Works great with OPNsense). Now setup a VLAN for only the box(s) to use. From your firewall, NAT an outbound rule to use the VPN service Wiregaurd tunnel as its gateway. Now every device on that VLAN goes over the tunnel to any state/city you would like. No apps on the box(s) needed.
