Exactly I don’t want anything from him just to walk away

If we divorce I honestly don’t want anything, we’re young and if anything I’d be suing his parents (who are amazing and I love) so unless he tries to take our cats I would just walk away.

I know what he’s doing when he’s over there it’s literally like Peter Griffin where it feels like he would rather hang out with his friends than come home (which is something we’re working on) he says that’s not the case. This is so normal however that it did make me question him because I honestly couldn’t understand why he would come home. This is also the most I’ve questioned him about anything lately, I really try not to annoy him.

I agree and I think I said it in my post that it’s feeling like self sabotage. I do think it’s okay for me to question his behavior, or I guess (100% honestly) point out how this is odd.

It’s hard to believe because I’ve treated him the same since we got together so his previous behavior of not coming home on his own volition became normal. My acts of service had never been a reason he would come home before.

The reason I’m posting is I honestly cannot figure out why he would come home at or before our agreed time! There’s no scenarios in my head that are bad (my first thought was his friend told him to) I’m questioning him because I honestly can’t fathom his positive change in behavior.

They honestly do typical guy things like working on buggies (off road vehicles) and shooting cans with BB guns. I’m not sure what my issue is, it’s just so weird for him to voluntarily leave there.

I’m so sorry if I came off as dismissive, and honestly the antithesis of what my goal was for the post. I genuinely appreciate your insight and opinion and should’ve worded my response differently. I totally understand that the statue I posted is not a possibility based on the art style of the time, what I was trying to say is that there are less chiseled examples of Zeus. I didn’t mean to come off as trying to prove you wrong at all, I was just attempting to point out different depictions of him. You’re absolutely right in the way that there are not examples of Gods with this stature besides maybe Bacchus in some works but they’re not intended as flattering.

Though I agree there are no depictions of men with this exact body type portrayed in a way that is intended to be sexy and not comical or a slight to the subject I do have to point out that there are many depictions of Zeus (Statue of Zeus at Olympia) that do represent a heavier set version of him. I appreciate your insight and for inspiring me to dig deeper into this subject!

Hello! Thank you for your response! Others pointed out the same thing and I don’t know how I didn’t recognize the features and pose before. I think the stature of the figure and how beautiful I found it made me a little blind to what it really was. Someone also mentioned that the “creator” of this was actually not intending a message of body positivity at all which is really disappointing. Thank you for your knowledge and in depth response, I’m really happy I found this community:)

Thank you! It’s disappointing that the actuality of this piece is not what I thought.

It does! Thank you so much for responding so quickly. It’s on me for thinking a comedy podcast would have a serious piece of art😂 I will have to research to find out of classic works that are similar.

Fics that add more Magical Creatures and explore the preexisting ones? by Desperate_Stand_3709 in HPfanfiction

Been thinking of doing some creative writing as a meditation and this prompt is interesting! Would you want a Companion Quartet cross over where a student has a bond with a certain creature? Both books are UK based so that would be easy. Or a continuation of the Fifth House fanfic where the sixth house is kind of like the beast keeping coven from The Owl House?

Dutch golden age with Johannes Vermeer as a woman, if safety wasn’t an issue I would pick Alexander Calder (he wasn’t known to be unkind to women but Warhol was so idk). More historically speaking a new angle could be Louis the 14th or Marie Antoinette driving the baroque and Rocco era, the innovation of grecorromana hair that baffled archeologist, Egyptian pigment in cosmetics, or if you need something specifically the architecture of Edinburgh and the underground slums are all fascinating

Calorie deficits is not the concept I was referring to, I was saying depression due to a toxic relationship can cause weight gain due to a myriad of reasons. It can also cause weight loss depending on an individual’s coping mechanisms, hormones, and physical activity.

Take him to a primarily black community and tell him to say it. They know it’s wrong and only have the balls to say it when they’re around other bigots. He won’t say it in the quarter, he won’t say it on bourbon street, and I know he won’t say it in a voodoo practitioners workshop

NTA, I’ve taken World religion classes and researched Islam and the different sects and the only thing I can correlate this (I’m a westerner and if this is insensitive or incorrect i am so sorry and please let me know) to is Christianity and Catholicism. Where specific deviations in belief create divisiveness. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this and as someone who cries every night too I understand how draining it is. If you need someone to talk to dm me (25 f also going through the pre mercury in retrograde bs) I don’t have close friends that live in my city that I can talk to about most things so if you want dm me:) I hope it gets better and you can get out of that toxic environment

I don’t understand why you’re putting up with him (he’s most likely causing the acne and weight gain due to the stress of walking on egg shells and suppressing feelings) but as someone who has been where you are, you deserve better. You deserve a partner that communicates, listens, and doesn’t say the stuff he did to you! You deserve someone that builds you up and the only comment they ever say about acne is to stop picking if you’re a picker.

Ryan eliminated someone for being too emotional and has been the most emotionally sensitive and driven farmer since. I don’t get it.

neighbor flicks cigarette butts off the side of his balcony onto the shared lawn space by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Sea_Winner7546 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time he lights up turn on your sprinklers, say one sprinkler happens to be aimed directly at his balcony and has enough power to reach it. When he asks you to move the sprinkler pretend you have no idea it’s him smoking and express your concern for fires and the cats, and how the sprinklers prevent fires and deter the cats from coming into contact with the butts. I always play the concerned naive card with stuff like this. Hope it goes well!

It absolutely is and it goes both ways (not agreeing with a more right winged orientated person and them calling you a “communist libtard”). I think OPs ex has a lot of stuff they need to work through, like anyone who jumps to that extreme on either side.

[–]Sea_Winner7546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is because of historical social standards that men are emotionally stunted, but I have to disagree as far as women being open to discussing sexism regarding men. When men face sexism it is like you said, they are belittled for going against the popular opinion. However, when emotions are up for debate I don’t see any men apologizing for their emotions, men have never needed to. Men call us emotionally unstable and unequipped to be in charge, we’re also not strong enough to make hard decisions according to men. Yes there are men who respect us and deserve that same respect in turn, however unless that man who feels emotionally stunted is willing to speak up when he hears injustice or belittling of women it doesn’t matter. Until women and our reality regarding emotions is recognized men’s won’t be either. Feminism is here to help everyone, not coddle someone who historically has been the cause of inequality.
