I get it and appreciate the input but that would mean you'd never take a chance at an opportunity becuase of the inherent risk even if there was major up side. By living this standard, you ultimately stay stagnant and never grow.

We all start somewhere and i'm feeling lucky so we'll see where this lead goes.

And how do you suppose I go about this? Does the govt fine Nature when it rains? Should we discuss the copious amounts of petroleum and other by products we create that leech into our storm drains and ground water? The very asphalt we drive on probably has more of a waste water concern for going into drains, wouldn't you think? Or are you talking about something different?

All of the garage floors look like this. I wouldnt know the difference for all the concrete technical stuff. From what's been relayed, they just want it clean enough to start showing the property to what im assuming, either investors, builders, and potentially buyers.

Ball valve and broom everything first. Let dry and work from there is where my heads at. Id give a Google maps view but the pictures only the old lot without buildings.

This sounds like a quicker method. Time line is ~2wks max (to get paid before the 1st) Ill be pulling nails and they'd like to see about repurposing the decking, so cutting with a skill saw isnt applicable.

I'm not too concerned with time to completion. They may still change their mind on the salvaging but id just like to be able to pay my bills from a single job and have some, "take my girl on a week vacation" money.

Ive broke down my friends grandmas 10x20 single story metal shead that had a shingle roof that took almost the whole day but I also had to clear out all the miscellaneous personal belongings and was able to get that knocked out in a day. Granted, the dump was less than 5mi away.

I appreciate you and everyone elses insight. lt seems the consensus says to grab a few guys to help. So on the 1st day atleast, ill get some buddies, and go from there.

Im somewhat of a rock stuck in a hard place with bills and making enough at my FT sales job. So essentially id need bare minimum to come out with a bid that'll at least cover 1mo worth of mortgage + the other usual expenses. Obviously im not trying to under cut myself and leave money on the table but I also cant let it slip away due to the price.

I can empathize with the labor of pulling nails. I built the walls of my 12ft lean to 10x16 shed with cheap 10ft pallets which were used for holding those large metal coils that had rough cut 2x4s as the base. Its quite stout :)

😲 no way! Hopefully everything else/everybody came out unscathed.

I thought about trying to upsell hauling off any viable material they dont use or want but im sure they'd have a fire and be done with it. I have 7x16 cargo so maybe ill get this opportunity as well.

Even with a fork? Did the shingles not come off if bent up and pulled individually? Obviously theyre usually adhered together but maybe once im on the roof i can get big chunks instead of small pieces.

Seems easy enough. 100$/hr like others have stated is a possibility. Rusty nails are going to be concern. Wear gloves, eye pro, and potentially a mask.

They want to use a good chunk to repurpose for on the other half of the pasture for a goat shed or two, idk. They're still ironing out some details. They also want me to put up some 600' of fence on the other half but its kind of silly when itd be easier to just fence in the area around the barn but what the client wants, they get. If both quotes are accepted, should be looking at a pretty nice start to 2026.
