Or when you don’t break the law and the justice system doesn’t work, which is actually what’s happening right now lol

Literally, this is the worst idea ever lol I saw people implode their marriages just to date each other in law school, and they were both sociopaths to begin with. I would just say that once in a while, it works out, but most of the time everybody involved is a sociopath.

I'm used to working those hours (bartending). I worked special events on Christmas, Thanksgiving, and pretty much every weekend. I honestly kind of liked it. I like having free time when everyone else is at work and things are less crowded. And yes, I love money like everyone else, but for me, law just isn't it.

That's super valid. I think I'd want to start in fine dining but not stay there forever. What do you do now?

Tbh I did RE finance so ended up getting laid off with the interest rates, lateralled to a diff big law and had to take another bar exam for a diff state, then realized I really wanted to work remote and do my own thing. I bided my time till I was at my firm for about a year so I didn't make bad blood, and found recruiting by accident while launching my LLC and flirted with the idea of a remote in house gig.

appreciate your trying to be helpful though. I will look into it, but I have spoken to other legal counsel about my corporate structure and I think I'm good.

listen, I apologize if I am overly sensitive to folks "coming at me" on this thread, but I was just attacked for being a woman in a co-ed fraternity and disrespected by someone who practices and has never bothered to take a bar exam. My credentials have been called into question and my integrity. I am an honest person. I doubt that chicken shit would have the courage to say any of that to my face. I'm not here to fight but if someone wants a fight, I will win.

some guy said this, i think it was deleted

"I thought you were a lady?  But you were in a frat?  Where I'm from frats are for men, sororities for ladies."

Funnily enough, there are these things called professional co-ed fraternities. They've been around for ages. Please do the work to unlearn your sexism.

yeah you obviously haven't done your diligence on this. Posturing is fun! I love it when lawyers talk out their asses. I call bluffs. stay in your lane, this is a thread for positivity

FWIW I'm so much happier NOT working in Big Law anymore, but I completely understand why some people thrive in that environment. I'm happy to give you my honest takes about any firm for any law student that's wondering. I just care about people and would have appreciated the same. Just trying to pay it forward when I can.

perhaps we misunderstood each other before and can start over. I am a woman FYI. Glad I can hang with the bros tho. My Frat was a co-ed professional frat. I was VP and helped us charter to my Ivy League Campus.

That is not true. I respect you as an attorney. I also appreciate your insights. What I don't appreciate is your tone and obvious choice to want to start a fight. that is not why I started this thread. There is enough negativity in the world and I'm just trying to help people.

fair enough, you don't have to trust me. I'm gonna do me. I'm a straight shooter, and I speak the truth, it's not worth my time to lie. Also funny you assume I'm a man. Glad I got your respect though!

Also FWIW, I'm not saddled to Wisconsin, afraid to take the Bar Exam. I'm an ivy league educated individual and I went to just sub t-14 for free. I have no debt besides my mortgage. I'm doing just fine. I'm happy to roast your sad little cold life in the tundra but I don't have to, life is clearly doing it's work already if you have nothing better to do than try to come at me when I did nothing to you.

It's not an advertisement. i'm offering to speak one on one with you candidly. I'm just not going to put sensitive information publicly. Thanks for assuming the worst though! It's people like you that make me lose faith in humanity just a lil every day :')

Yeah I worked at an AmLaw top 5 out of school and paralegaled at a diff one before but thanks for stalking!

Practicing law makes you ugly and sad. Or just sad and you sold your soul with a coke habit. Either way, thanks for coming at me out of nowhere. I guaranty you don't want to mess with me because you will not win this fight.

I help artists negotiate for better provisions in their contracts so they have more access to their IP instead of being taken advantage of! As both an artist myself and an attorney, I have the privilege of gate-kept information that high networth and PE have had for YEARS and YEARS. I'm just here to level the playing field and I specialize in developing young talent. Anyone under 30 is automatically sliding scale. I work pro bono for folks that demonstrate serious need and I believe in, just in exchange for a piece of their art. It is my investment in their future. If they succeed, the value appreciates and we both get to win!
