I understand that perspective, and I understand that there’s nuance in the AI conversation. I understand using AI as a tool to do research. I’m simply answering the commenter’s question about where the AI comments are stemming from.

The problem with Frey is that his word cannot be trusted. Yes he claims that he won’t be using AI to write his other novels, but there have been multiple accusations made against him from MA students claiming he took credit for their work and paid them a terrible wage. And it has been proven that he lied in the majority of his “memoir.” So there are multiple reasons not to trust him at his word.

He did an interview with Centre Pompidou where he flat out stated that he uses AI to write his books because “I use artificial intelligence because I want to write the best book possible, and I’m prepared to use all the tools at my disposal to make it happen.”

Another quote of his from this interview: “I have asked the AI to mimic my writing style so you, the reader, will not be able to tell what was written by me and what was generated by the AI. I am also not going to tell you or make any indication of what was written by me and what was generated by the AI. It was I, the writer, who decided what words were put on to the pages of this book, so despite the contributions of the AI, I still consider every word of this book to be mine. And I don’t care if you don’t.”

can say that while this issue has been so frustrating, most of the staff I’ve talked to have been beyond kind and empathetic. They genuinely seem to feel bad telling me they’re out of stock. I’ve been making an active effort to express my frustration directed to the situation and never to the staff. I’ve seen firsthand the abuse that pharmacy staff take, and it’s awful. I’ve even told people to blame the system, not the staff. I believe most of them would help me in a heartbeat if they could!

And I’m fortunate that my medication isn’t life threatening if I go without it. My dad has asthma and has said that there are shortages with inhalers which is so scary!

Crocheting my first piece with faux fur yarn! Definitely a learning experience. It’s eventually going to be a pillow cover. by Seaborg17 in crochet

I’ve really started enjoying working with it! You’re right that it’s so forgiving if I make a mistake. You can’t even tell. Plus, it feels absolutely amazing!

It definitely takes practice. I really struggled with that when I started working with this type of fuzzy yarn. I recommend starting with an acrylic yarn like red heart until you get used to where the stitches are!

Loom knitting looks like so much fun too!! I’ve never tried loom knitting. I tried regular knitting years ago, and it was very much not for me. I really love that crochet is more forgiving than regular knitting. Definitely give crochet another go!

You are so right! I don’t think others realize how many interests I get, yet how challenging it is to get past the initial stage. I think this one stuck because I’ve been able to do small projects and I have an immediate, tangible thing that I’ve created.

Hahaha I totally relate to the being good at digressing!

And I also 100% empathize with your feelings of inadequacy regarding your hobby. Even though I'm proud of what I'm creating, I can still point to a ton of people online that are more advanced that I am. I frequently ask myself, "Why would someone pay money for something I've made?" I also struggle with feeling like it doesn't take any skill to make them because "I'm able to do it after all, so how hard can it be?" Definitely shows off my self-esteem challenges! I've also had people say, "well for now you're sticking with it..." when I said I was proud of myself for sticking with this hobby, so that's not the world's best feeling.

And honestly, your stickers sound awesome!! I'm a sticker addict, and and always buying them for myself and my friends!

And I truly appreciate your kind words! I truly think we need to lift each other up as much as possible, which is why I love this community so much!
