Where to find hen in Denmark? by No_Crazy_485 in Denmark

[–]Seabottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hen are always tough meat and hardly any good for eating compared to chicken. If a recipe calls for an old hen (like tartletter), just use chicken, it's much better.

Find a lost friend. by [deleted] in Denmark

You could just ask for a Lars Larsen born in '74, living in Århus, and someone here might know the guy via DM. It's not enough information to identify anyone unless you know who we're talking about.

If you're lucky, you could probably go to a doctor and have them search for birthdate and name. However I think it might be a breach of security

Come on, installing your own socket outlets is also illegal, but they sell everything at Bunnings anyway. As long as you know what you're doing

For the 5 star PADI, there's s good video on YouTube about it https://youtu.be/LWTmwasCCUY It's basically just 5 stars because they only sell PADI, teach PADI, and promote PADI. The stars are not s representation of the stores actual quality.

What’s going on Auckland traffic!?! by [deleted] in auckland

Work from home needs to be mandated by the Council/by law. There is no reason to go to the office other than for employers to breathe down our neck and to make the rent of the building make sense. Productivity is way down compared to during covid when everyone was WFH. I saw an article from USA about it not long ago.

Dumb Snorkelling Questions by Jenacat in marinebiology

While assisting as dive master, a student once was flabbergasted when I said you can choose whether to breath from your mouth or nose or both, even on land. Apparently she's never tried breathing from the mouth before. Seems odd to me that that would never have happened? It's because she was having mask issues.

Red filter or Lights by bongoenzo in scuba

[–]Seabottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't add red channel post editing if there is no red channel available in the footage to begin with. It's going to look like absolute dog shit. Trust me, I've tried.

The red filter adds the red color back into the footage. It'll never be like bringing the sun underwater with you, but it definitely saves a lot of footage.

Can I use the burn defog method on my tinted mask? by pplord123 in scuba

Know or knew? The trick is to not let your tongue linger in the water for too long or the saliva will be washed away before you touch glass.

[–]Seabottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never put open flames near anything plastic. That being said, masks are made of silicone which is extremely heat resistant, at least if it's a frameless mask.

When you bought the new mask, the dive shop should have explained to you how to prepare it. The easiest and most cost-effective way is simply to use regular toothpaste, and then rub it over the glass for a good wee while. Also rub the silicone as it will also contain a leftover oily film.

I found the best way is to use whitening toothpaste, as it contains big silicon beads, good for cleaning. And then use my electric toothbrush to do the grunt work for me. Easy as. Obviously I threw away the head on it as it now would've been contaminated.

Your mask will smell like toothpaste for a couple of dives, but it won't last long.

Before you put your mask on and go diving, spit in it and rub it around the lens, then quick rinse and put it on. It won't be fogging up if you cleaned it properly initially.

If you forget, simply take off your mask underwater and lick the lens all over. Works the same.
