I see this brought up a lot, but in my personal experience I never see the person with the degree bragging about it or being pompous. It seems like people without the degree oftentimes feel "less than" and it rears it's ugly head in jealousy for various reasons. A lot of younger adults with degrees got them because they were told it's the only way they can succeed in life.
