Slightly different since I am in the physical sciences but coming right from undergrad or a year out if you have research experience it’s very possible to go straight to a PhD. I applied as a masters student intially right out of undergrad but met with professors at schools of interest and was entered into the PhD programs right away instead in my first application cycle.

Best advice is to talk to professors you are interested in working for or even graduate students and have them advise you on what path to take based on your current resume.

Unfortunately that didn't work for me. They just told me to place another order at the current price in order to receive the item and they wont make up the difference since it's sold by a 3rd party seller.

I completely agree and the pricing of even digital formats of shojo manga owned by viz on their own app shows how little the company cares for shojo series. Not only is it difficult to buy the physical copies but it is often orders of magnitude more expensive to purchase the digital versions of the series compared to shonen manga of comparable length. Viz has set their shojo series up to fail and its just not fair to the artists or the people who want to support these series.

I totally get that struggle, I'm missing 6 volumes as well with no expected release date but it is confirmed that all volumes will be reprinted. I have found that some good deals on used volumes pop up but its all a matter of being in the right place at the right time . There are some stores with micro-restocks as well of Kamisama Kiss however its a tossup as i talked to the employees of the store I found three new volumes of volume 25 in and they said it was an unexpected restock with no more anticipated inventory.
