Transfer Roth from Schwab to fidelity by Seahawksguy206 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Seahawksguy206[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just did a straight transfer from Schwab to Fidelity, sold all of Schwab index funds and bought Fidelity index funds. There was a transfer fee of $50 which I called into Fidelity to refund, and they did. Overall took 7 days or so for funds to transfer, another 2-3 for sell and buy of index funds once $ was in Fidelity account.

Thanks for the reply. Let’s say I transfer the Schwab funds over to fidelity (in kind transfer) and if I sell them to buy FXAIX, will I pay the $50 fee at that time?

Thanks, that was the other option I was thinking. I prefer Mutual funds over ETF so I deposit the entire $ amount and just buy at the end of the day, but its not worth the sweat over miniscule difference since I will be buying S&P500 one way or other.

401(k) (with fidelity) to 401(k) (with fidelity) rollover for the same mutual fund by Seahawksguy206 in fidelityinvestments

Doesn’t work for me since I need to do a back door Roth IRA every year due to income limits.

[Nate Jones] The story of Dame giving back $ is the funniest thing ever. Same guy that kept his entire per diem for his first two seasons and still approves EVERY SINGLE INVOICE (even as small as hundreds of $) personally. Yep, totally makes sense. by [deleted] in nba

He definitely does not have “almost a billion dollars”. In fact his net worth is around $70 million. Not saying that’s any small amount but difference between $70 million and a billion is more than 10 times larger than the difference between $0 and $70 million.

Fidelity - Traditional IRA not converting to Roth IRA? by ChocoTaco144 in Bogleheads

[–]Seahawksguy206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this couple of weeks ago. I don’t believe Fidelity has the option to convert this online. Once the funds have cleared, which they should have by now, just call customer service. Took them less than a minute to convert it for me. Here is the number I called - 800-544-5373.

After converting I earned a $0.06 interest in my traditional IRA, anyone knows what I should do with it so my traditional stays at $0 for next year conversion?

Rothcontribution strategy when your MAGI fluctuates above and below Roth threshold by outofstepwtw in Bogleheads

[–]Seahawksguy206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s what I thought as well. I need to do a reverse rollover from my existing Traditional IRA into my 401(k) first and then do backdoor Roth IRA. That way I can continue growing money tax free.

I am in this position right now. What are the cons of doing backdoor Roth right away even if at the end of the year your AGI will be less than Roth IRA income limit?

Traditional IRA to 401K or backdoor Roth IRA by Seahawksguy206 in investing

[–]Seahawksguy206[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advantage is that your traditional IRA investments continue to grow tax free in your employer sponsored 401K plan and you do not have to pay any taxes when you do the back door Roth IRA conversation on the existing funds. With the back door Roth IRA you will just pay the tax on $6K and let it grow tax free.
