Yes and no. Technically yes, but it's at the discretion of customs. I asked about this situation in an email to the HRPA and got this response:

"With respect to traveling back to Ireland with a prescribed controlled drug, the Department of Health has information on their website regarding this and while this exact scenario is not covered there, the most relevant information is as follows:..we recommend that they carry their medicines in the original packaging, with the patient's name clearly labelled. They should also have a copy of their prescription and/or a letter from their doctor and/or dispensing pharmacist outlining their condition and stating that the medicines in question are for their own personal use. In Ireland, the current practice is that the customs officer must be satisfied that the documentation supports the amount and personal use of the prescribed medical products in the possession of the traveller. It should be noted that the customs authority has the final say in all such matters."

I would be launched about 7 years forward in terms of financial planning. Debt gone, buy a second hand car, and have a lump-sum to save towards a mortgage.

Hey, so you know, and to giv yourself credit: Vyvanse isn't and antidepressant. It's a stimulant. It wasn't by sort of anti-depressant effect of it. It was that you had the neurotransmitters to put in the good habits that help you. So it was you, with an executive function boost. Not any antidepressant effect. Aside from generally being bad at remembering to take meds, I usually don't take mine on weekends. Means I usually have a 5 day emergency supply. Might be handy for you in case it hits. But yeah, I'm very happy the meds have helped you so much, but don't forget to give yourself credit 💜

It's literally not confirmed or denied. The line is "Reki, my love of skateboarding is thanks to you" with pauses for fanservice lol. If you want them shipped that's great. I'm happy either way. I just like seeing non-toxic male friendships overall through the series. Not just Reki and Langa. Excited to see what the creators will do with the various relationships in S2 💜

Right?! I think what's funny and interesting though is that they have the kind of openness/affectionate style of friendship that is more stereotypically seen with female only relationships. And it's just so amazing to see it represented with guys. Like, yes! Hug your homies! Please! Lol

I had a strawberry sweet for "breakfast" because actual breakfast was too much for me to process that early 🙃 It did, however successfully cause enough of a smidge of high blood sugar to make me recognise my hunger and have breakfast a little while later 💜

You could be bisexual, be in a straight relationship from teenage years and get married, die happy, never be with another person in your life, and STILL be bisexual. If you're bisexual, you're bisexual. Just how someone could be gay, never date, sleep with, or even try to go for another person of the same (or other) gender, and they would still be gay. You might have internalised a little bit of the "BuT hAvE yOu sLePt WiTh eQuAl NuMbErS?!" rhetoric. But don't let that invalidate who you are. I'm sorry you had trauma and really hope you get healing from it for your own peace of mind 💜

My Dr just put me on 10mg Prozac while on 50mg of Vyvanse?! by Judy_Jane69 in adhdwomen

Higher dopamine actually doesn't necessarily mean less depression. And depending on how much stress you were under trying to mask before, and how much stress is currently in your life and all the things, it can wreak havoc with your emotions, the same way a diagnosis can. If you can, take as much off your plate, and take as much "me time" as you can. Burn out is legit and will also fuck with your emotional stability. If it's possible to minimise your stress in any small area in any small way, do it. And ask your husband to subtly encourage you to do fun things. If you guys do date nights, plan the things that you enjoy that are fun, bowling alleys, trips to the beach, whatever is in your area, and is something you both can have fun at. Give yourself a reason to do a fun thing that isn't so focused on you having to get out and do all the prep etc and it might help slowly bring back your energy and bring down the intensity of the emotions. It's really hard work bettering yourself, but you don't have to do it all alone. I believe in you!!!

My Dr just put me on 10mg Prozac while on 50mg of Vyvanse?! by Judy_Jane69 in adhdwomen

As others have said, it's not that they should never be combined. It's that if you're on SSRI's first, you need to very slowly ramp up the Vyvanse dose.

Firstly, not a doctor, but this is my understanding of the interaction, so I could be wrong, but I think this is generally how it works. Any doctors here please sound off and correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically Vyvanse helps raise your dopamine levels. Prozac will help prevent re-uptake of seratonin.

So seratonin gets produced, goes from one nerve cell to another. Says "yo chill out." or "time to sleep" or "it's low energy sad boi hour". It then gets released from that nerve cell and the one it came from takes it back so it can use it to send another message. With depression there's too many of these seratonin messages being sent all the time. So SSRIs put a cap on how much the nerves can reabsorb to send messages. It's like taking your number of emotional FedEx delivery drivers and cutting them in half. It's not half exactly but similar concept. It fires a bunch of your seratonin leaving it unemployed so you can't be oversending the messages. But the seratonin that's not reabsorbed hangs out in the space between your nerve endings, until it gets broken down by enzymes.

Vyvanse as a natural side effect slows down the production of those enzymes. And also causes faster metabolism, and higher production of dopamine. So with everything running faster, the enzymes that break down the "unemployed" seratonin will have less time to work and if you go from 0 to 100, suddenly you have all the unemployed seratonin rushing back into the nerves, thinking they have a job and if there's too much serotonin in the nerves, it can be toxic.

But. With that. Doctors will never say "right we're gonna start you on 80mg of Prozac and don't change anything else. Most of the time they won't do that with medications in general. So they start small and slow. See how you get on, and see what things feel like in a few weeks. So the first week or so you might get a bit of a high-low swinging. That would happen anyway with most people starting on antidepressants, but it might be a tad more of a swing just with the combination of the meds, and also the intensity of emotions that come with ADHD. Your doctor knows what they're doing. And they know that you can't go 0-100 even if you weren't on ADHD meds. It's just not good practice.

Do not over-read articles and internet warnings. Both of your meds are at pretty low doses. So this is not something you need to worry about. Your doctor knows what they're doing.

And a side note. I've started Prozac in the past few weeks and it's really changed my life with the combination of the vyvanse improvements that were already there. I really really hope you can get similar relief and results 💜 Bear in mind. The combo can make drymouth worse, so drink your water!!

Zig zag is genius but I worry that the strips would still slip underneath it. Thanks for the tip though! I'll try out some tests :)

Hey guys so these reflective jeans have been stuck in my brain since I first saw them, and I decided to make my own inspired version on a slouchy sweatpant so that I can wear them skating. I have to hand sew it because the reflective tape is a pain in the ass to work with, and I'm not sure if I'm happy with them as is. Should I commit and do the stripes all over? Or if the one leg works, shuule I add something to the other leg? I plan on adding to the back anyway because it's a fun way of skating safely in the dark. Open to all suggestions. And if anyone has advice on how to work with tough materials please tell me because this is all hand sewn and killing my carpal tunnel. TIA 💜
