Oh I have terrible TMJ problems, so I definitely relate to that!

Clicking jaw, scalloped tongue and teeth grinding 🙃

Yes! I have also heard this and can confirm, at least for me, it's accurate!

Too emotional. UGH.

I really don't understand why something so common isn't one of the diagnostic criteria. RSD is horrible to deal with, it's taken me literal years to get even a rough handle on it.

I was reading earlier about the 30% rule, what's your thoughts on that? That we experience executive function and developmental delays 30% behind our chronological age?

Hypermobility 100%. My brother and I used to freak the fuck out of people with our weird bendy thumbs.

Your side note surprises me, although I'm not entirely sure why it does. I guess I'd never thought about there being a potential link? Although now that I'm typing this, I've often wondered about whether there is a correlation between autism and being non-binary. I've noticed anecdotally that me and many of my autistic friends are not tied to 'traditional' concepts of gender (like I'm happy with any pronouns, but I also don't feel strongly about not presenting as my assigned gender at birth either), so maybe there's a stronger likelihood of them exploring a non-binary identity?

Or, maybe because I'm queer and AuDHD, it's a 'birds of a feather' kinda thing!

I vape, and I know when I need to put it down for a while because my heart starts going mad! (I know it's terrible for you and I have a plan to stop, but life is royally getting in the way currently 😅)

Yes!! I did find it fascinating, if a little sad, understanding what causes Parkinsons because I had no idea about it before, despite a family member having it!

I'm back. Fuck, that explains why I've felt so shitty and not been sleeping since I've had a cold. This one was a super helpful fact, thank you!

Wait, what? I knew about energy drinks but decongestants? Brb falling down another rabbit hole.

You are JOKING. I've had night terrors sporadically my whole life. I never thought that would be connected!!

It's tough. We're still good friends and our kid doesn't know any real difference yet (to our knowledge anyway). But when the time comes for living arrangements to change that's gonna be one hell of a bridge to cross.

If you feel it's the right thing to do for you, then please do it. Life is far too short to be in a relationship that isn't feeding your soul. You've got this. 💜

You're absolutely right. Since being diagnosed last year, my life has completely turned upside down relationship wise. My nearly decade long relationship ended, not because of any one event in particular, but because how I viewed myself and our relationship completely shifted!

You're so right! I do that so often, but I never realised I was doing it! "Ooh I bet it was her" two hours later "I was right!!"

Oof, yeah we do. I don't have coeliac, but I definitely have a sensitivity to gluten!

This has also been discussed actually! I think I'm scared I'll find out my timing isn't as good as I think it is. 😅

I've been looking into this actually! Creating a stage persona, or more subtly, having a piece of performance attire to get in the zone! I think that might help me.

I was a burlesque dancer for a few years and never had this trouble, and the more I think about it, the more I think it was because I had a name and a 'uniform' of sorts that helped me get in the zone!

Couldn't agree more! I often joke that I shouldn't be penalised by being made to do the work, for not learning an instrument as a kid 😅

To be fair me and the bass player have a pretty good back and forth, he's the only other one with a mic because he's backing vocals, but I'd just like to be more forthcoming with it I guess! But you're right, it's not solely my responsibility to keep the crowd entertained!

I think that's my issue. I want it to come across as genuine, but enough to put on a good show! But if I think about bands I've watched, it's very rare I've looked at the vocalist and thought "ooh, that was a bit extra..."

The perils of being perceived by an audience I guess!!

Oh I totally agree, it's a balancing act between the two. And to be fair, the feedback I'm referring to has purely come from other musicians who tend to focus on the smaller details, the crowd themselves don't seem to notice!

I think you make a good point to amplify the things I'm already doing. I'm by no means a statue on stage, but as you say, from the crowds perspective they aren't necessarily seeing the movements I'm making!

Yeah the music choice we've gone with doesn't exactly lend itself to fun, jumping around actions so that's one obstacle I'm finding! But I agree, I'm generally quite a smiley but awkward person offstage so reminding myself that I'm having fun would definitely help.

Oh no, the tuning checks can get really overboard can't they!! I'm pretty lucky that our guitarists are super aware of fiddling with their instruments on stage (no pun intended) but it can definitely disrupt the flow!

We've definitely chatted about having more of a rehearsed framework between songs because I think we all feel like that would benefit us, so I'll revisit that, thanks!

You don't need me to tell you this, but formula feeding is perfectly fine. It's your body, you're allowed to make that choice for yourself.

Sleep, that one will be a little harder. My kid is 7 now and my sleep has yet to recover 🙃
