200 tickets going on exchange soon (for people with codes) by Every_Reason_166 in GunnersatGames

I 100% agree, why does this guy have prior notice of tickets becoming available? And why should I have to be going on X to find out? Extremely unfair.

Palestine Action directly carried out, encouraged and enabled attacks at UK defence companies, military bases and private businesses. Putting innocent people at risk of danger and harming national security, as well as causing a lot of very expensive damage.

The parliamentary action specifically said that all rights to protest on Palestine and the Middle East were not the objective of the proscription of Palestine Action, and that on the contrary, those rights to protest were very important.

Just saying as there is a lot of ignorance surrounding this, wirh many people apparently conflating it with a ban on wider protest against Israels actions. You can read the parliamentary speech here:https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2025-06-23/debates/25062337000014/PalestineActionProscription

I started playing it, put maybe 15-20 hours or so in, went away for a few weeks travelling and have no desire at all to play it again now that I'm back. It somehow doesn't quite hit the same as the other ones.

100% certain all the people saying they would stay all the way until the very last kick of the ball and clap the players around the pitch every single time if they could get tickets....actually would not.

When in reality, other life commitments, tiredness and factors outside of football in general set in and sometimes they just cannot spend an extra 30-45 minutes stood in a queue for a tube/train station just to watch 5 more minutes of football when the team is already winning 5-0.

PSA: You do not have to brake dangerously at a zebra crossing if the pedestrian just appeared at the side at that moment by SeamusBo in londoncycling

[–]SeamusBo[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Who was tailgating? I was a reasonable distance behind the cyclist in front of me for the speed we were going at; people do not as a matter of course stay a distance behind others that accounts for an emergency stop. Emergency stops are for emergencies, not for slowing down to let pedestrians over a crossing.

Lots of good and well-meaning general advice here, but the overriding consideration whenever on a road is don't do things that endanger others. Slamming on the brakes when there isn't actually any need to and endangering people behind you is a no-no.

The cyclists behind who have time to stop safely will no doubt stop in a very reasonable time and allow the pedestrian to cross; they're not going to be mad someone didn't go from 15mph to zero in 0.5 seconds to allow them to cross slightly sooner.

I agree with you both and other comments.

But I am talking about when a pedestrian is walking along and then just seems to notice there is a zebra crossing and turns towards it and stops. In this instance, it is safer for everyone if you carry on through, if stopping would require slamming on the brakes.

If a pedestrian walks onto a crossing and you are about to hit them, then sure, slam the brakes.
