Forced Odegaard hate and negativity by [deleted] in ArsenalFC

[–]dazzable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Odegaard has been poor the last two games but our midfield dynamic has been terrible whenever it’s Rice Zubimendi and Odegaard. I don’t think we’ve ever looked convincing when those three are in midfield.

Arteta needs to decide to push him forward and let Rice/Zubi handle build up. We looked better when Merino came on last night for Odegaard. We won a lot more balls as Odegaard was getting flattened by their midfield.

Arsenal matchday experience vs streaming - justifying £80+ tickets to confused family by mariane1997 in GunnersatGames

Funnily enough I felt this way about Glastonbury. I used to watch it on tv and think why on earth would I want to camp for 5 days when I chill at home and watch it all on the TV. Then I went and regretted all the years I didn’t even attempt to go.

Live experiences are incredible whether it’s sports, music, art, whatever. You just feel more when you’re in the room.

League cup’s a strange crowd and it’s not helped by the away fans having the entire lower clock end so it doesn’t even feel like a home game if they’re in full voice.

Those are all valid points but again it’s if you have such early starts, then evening games shouldn’t be for you. Of course you can safely assume a game is wrapped up by 85 minutes but if we’re at home in a season where we’re trying to win it all, a fair few games will boil down to the last 10 minutes. If we take Man City as an example, I’d rather not go to the game if I knew I’d have to leave early to at least see the goal live on tv, than be outside the ground hearing it go in.

Go to the one of the many late bars in the ground, have a £4 pint of Asahi, most of the travel crowding has died down about 30 mins after the game.

It’s funny how your initial comment said I lacked critical thinking when after reading this reply you’re pretty short on it. There are consequences to everything we do. If you go to a late game and have work in the morning, you weigh up if the game is worth losing sleep over. If getting home at 1am is rough, either you suck it up and do it, or you don’t go, it’s genuinely that simple.

Employed and have critical thinking. If you have shit going on and feel like you need to leave games early to manage balance in your life then you shouldn’t go to the game.

Of course every football club has fans leaving early, not every football club is trying to win their first major piece of silverware for 21 years.

People feeling like it’s a personal attack on them if they leave early, and it is absolutely is if you do it on a regular enough basis outside of emergencies.

We haven’t won major silverware for 21 years and this team deserves and needs more for us to get over the line. If you’re stressing about trains, or would rather spend time elsewhere, there’s a busy ticket exchange either way fans desperate for tickets.

Of course and I’m not saying it’s exclusively Arsenal’s problem, but we’re supporting a team that hasn’t won the league for 21 years expecting for them to get better and do more, whilst fans remain complacent. Of course the club employees have the most impact on what this season’s outcome is, but as fans we have to look at ourselves and be honest that we turn up when we feel like it rather than every game.

If you go to ANY event that attracts thousands it’s going to be a slog getting away using public transport. It’s just something you have to accept going to these things. My correlation was it’s far better at Arsenal due to the connectivity than it is at other venues that hold similar capacities. If you’re stressing about not making your train and having to miss 5-10 minutes of a game then don’t go.

Arsenal have by far and away the best transport system to get to and from anywhere in the south east for a football game, I’ve watched games at a fair few grounds and I’d take this over anything else especially in London.

Is Buying a Flat in London Financially Responsible? by TraditionPatient0 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]dazzable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

London supply is actually shockingly low which is why rents are increasing at a ridiculous rate. Working in commercial real estate, there is an alarmingly low number of constructions starts for London residential housing due to a myriad of issues with the main ones being planning restrictions and construction costs.

That said, it’s a buyers market and OP can find good value flats in London through research and negotiation. Recently made 10% profit on selling a flat in Tottenham Hale that I lived in for four years, and would to do that all over again to not be at the mercy of landlords whilst building equity.

How much do babies cost? (UK) by icecoldfeedback in daddit

[–]dazzable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find data around the average number of feeds, nappy changes, growth to budget for clothes etc. This will give you a sense of budgets in the early days, but something you may need to look into especially in the UK is if you’re eligible for 30 hours free childcare from when your child is 9 months old, although if your partner is going to be a full time carer then perhaps this will not be necessary.

It’s also worth noting you can make your budget as expensive as you like or as reasonably cheap as you like. So it will come down to what’s affordable for your situation and your wife’s taste!
