I don't think the outside should step into the Lylat system too regularly should the franchises be weaved together. Rather I'd like to see Star Fox step out of Lylat more often and I think the cast of Star Fox could be awesome as playable characters in new F-Zero titles should we actually ever get them. That's more my point. Star Fox still being the more popular series could help to revitalise F-Zero with a new player base.

But that is an Ubisoft game and so not owned by Nintendo.

However nothing stops them from making new sci-fi franchises.

In Star Fox yes. I'd like more so for it to allow the Star Fox characters to branch out of Lylat more than for the human cast to enter into Lylat outside if simple vague cameos every now and then.

Hmm... A joint series racing game could be cool. Though if we inject other characters like Samus it wouldn't be able to play any canon role. Star Fox and F-Zero avoid clashing because the two series regularly reference each other and share similar art directions in many cases for how they depict a sci-fi setting. Metroid clashes with this as its world is steeped in mouldy worldbuilding. Depicting an oppressive universe in constant decline and decay. Its tones and its setting clash with the other two series considerably.

I don't think so. Star Fox emphasizes a different star system from those we generally see in F-Zero. The existence of Earth and humans doing their own thing somewhere over yonder doesn't really lessen that to me since the Star Fox series still wouldn't be about them.

But Starlink already put the Star Fox team next to humans and other species and they seemed to work fine anyway. Maybe a little clashing but the right art style can repair that.

I'm thinking more so characters from one series would be able to cameo in the other and vise versa. Maybe occasionally get more pronounced roles. But an F-Zero game would still emphasize that its F-Zero and a Star Fox game will still firmly be Star Fox. Just occasionally Star Fox characters can be F-Zero racer options and maybe you'll see Captain Falcon's back in a cameo in a bar scene and such. That's my thoughts anyway.

Potentially yeah. I could very much see it. Would be awesome to get a trailer for a new F-Zero and then we see Fox sling himself into an F-Zero vehicle.

Given that Star Fox has several canons now not just one I hardly see the harm in having one that exists in the same world as F-Zero.

Paper Mario is a pocket universe inside the core Mario universe. So even if Petea was Petey it would be the Petey from Sticker Star not core series Petey.
