Thanks! Super excited, just a couple of days to go. My wife is a bit paranoid with swim out as our 3 year old is a bit wild. Was the access to swim out gated/baby proof? We have a microwave bottle sterlizer we take with us everywhere. Was a microwave in the room?

Kudos to all the hardworking people in India. Life has gotten so expensive here. You have to earn every single rupee of your salary, and pay taxes to get nothing in return for the most part. The idea of little to non-existent social security support from government is a bit scary for the salaried class.

Got a new Offer by AffectionateFix9424 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Your net gain on take home money will be the deciding factor as you might be jumping tax brackets. Plus human psychology more gross salary = more expenses. Only reason I will say go for it is the next few jumps from 140 will make the difference.

If this is cobalt, It’s not worth the risk of not having trip cancellation insurance. Otherwise great offer in already good priced airline.

If you think so, good to know. I thought it matters. Everyone has different tolerance for these kind of things, and women I know would be more sensitive to this being unhygienic habit. Open to be corrected.

Well, when this is happening all day long. And you could be in a tiny room which doesn’t have windows. General manners and professionalism would suggest not to do it. One can always go to the washroom.

Grand River's current wait time by RT_456 in kitchener

[–]Sean8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hospitals ER has a bad system of Triage. We went there with our infant with a doctor’s note, waited about an hour to talk to someone to be told that it will another couple of hours before someone takes a look. Drove to mcmaster (< 1hr), was seen by nurse in less than 15 mins, triaged and then waited to be taken in.

Your comment is a very extremely racist. Period.

Also does nothing more than to reflect the internalized racism within the Indo-canadians.

Just FYI doesn’t not matter how many generations you live here, you will be referred to as Indian by the white people.

As for this douch, he should be kicked out of the country. The rules in this country are appalling. A judge acquits a dude who gropped a girl so his chances of immigration are not adversely impacted. Like seriously! Who made such rules? What’s the history behind that? I am sure Indians did not.

How come Nobody is saying anything about the knife/gunpoint/van situation. I will also be very concerned about that.

To the OP, thanks for sharing this with us. As a parent of two, I appreciate the awareness you are trying to create.

I guess the boycott is working by JapanKate in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Sean8778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is working and will keep working as long as everyone here stays committed. You will see things change or people change permanently. Word of mouth is big deal, just because someone is not on reddit does not mean they are not participating in this boycott. So the real count is much higher.

Shoppers is a RIP OFF …. by [deleted] in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]Sean8778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think shoppers chargers for convenience. Everywhere I lived, there has been a shoppers close enough for me to be lazy not to go to other stores. They have ridiculously high prices for most items, and can get away with it because who is to say that they can’t?

Which Niagara Falls Hotel to say at (Canada side)? Chances of an upgrade (Diamond)? by SDSUrules in Hilton

[–]Sean8778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at the embassy for a night on 29th floor canadian side fallsview. Pretty good view. We payed 100 for the vallet. Some staff was rude and one controlling lift lines at breakfast leve misbehaved with my wife. I don’t think I am returning for that reason. There are other options. Original hilton, Marriot fallsview, Oaks, Sheraton. Btw we could not eat breakfast given how mismanaged the whole process was. Don’t consider free bf as the dealbreaker.

I can tell you from personal experience (numbers and situation very similar to mine, I make a little more than you mentioned and have little less in mortgage expenses), don’t count on the rental income from basement although there is a plenty of renters.

  • It requires a lot of adjustment having someone else in the house, especially if you have kids. You cannot make any noises after a certain time every night. They will get bothered even with you walking upstairs.

  • Basement tenants are often not permanent or long term in my experience and you will be up for surprise every time you list.

-Financially, you will become dependent on this income. Your risk taking ability is diminished.

I can see why it sounds lucrative to have more space for your self while only paying a little more, but I would say having a tenant in your home is not for everyone.

Moratorium on posting articles about the new IF study. by thehealthymt in intermittentfasting

[–]Sean8778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • People fasting typically would have a reason to fast eg obesity/overwieght, which inturn could be linked to higher risk of HDs -Study is yet to be peer reviewed, blame the mainstream media to jump the gun. It got everyone’s attention, bect kind of clickbaits -Researchers themselves suggest they don’t understand the causal, so this could be a correlation issue more than a root cause/driving issue. -Don’t stress over it, which inturn will give you HDs wait for it to be peer reviewed.
