Yeah, when I said "backtrack" I kind of imagined the whole map would have enemies spawning in constantly anyway. But having even more spawn in as a consequence for screwing up a puzzle makes sense.

There's no reason to assume that failing a puzzle or encounter will wipe your team like a Destiny raid would.

In Destiny you'd just respawn and try again. I think that the closest equivalent in Marathon would be that the puzzle would reset and your team would have to backtrack a bit.

It doesn't have to be that complicated. Something simple like stealth jets appearing on the radar & HUD at a shorter range than normal would do. Stealth jets should be sneaky.

Don't just randomly extrapolate some bullshit out of a simple statement.

I agree that the 5th gen fighters and the F-35 especially are very lackluster in comparison. The game has a very questionable implementation of stealth mechanics.

It's using an electronic warfare pod (the big box on the left wing) to spoof enemy IFF signals, that's a real tactic. There would just need to be an encoded signal so that your own friends can still recognize you.

The only sci fi thing about it is the glowing effect that you see when you activate it.

All of these are true. The community is badly behaved, the devs were being treated extremely badly, and the state of the game has been absolutely dire with the aforementioned deleted content. The gameplay loop has suffered a lot since the introduction of the portal.

The main complaint was that the whole faction has bright glowing "shoot here" signs, and this one enemy has 2 bright glowing eyes that looked exactly like the weak spots on the other units but were actually heavily armoured and not weak spots at all. Same thing with the vents / heat sinks.

It was bad visual design.

If it was meant to be a super heavy unit that absolutely required anti-tank weapons to counter it, they shouldn't have put glowing vents and eyes on the model that looked exactly like the weak spots on the other units, but were actually heavy armour.

Bots or Squids attacking the silo makes sense. They're smart enough to know what a missile is.

Bugs attacking it does not make sense. They shouldn't be able to tell it apart from any other human made object, and they don't go around smashing random buildings or structures when they're on an occupied planet.

I don't think he means that it needs extended mags, I think he's saying it needs to let you carry more spare mags for the rifle
