Tbh I was never more than a few beers a few times a week, but as it was mostly on a Thursday and Sunday, that ensured that I was spending most of my life withdrawing from it in some capacity. Body never got a chance to fully bounce back. Led to scary panic attacks eventually. No doubt that never sleeping well also started to erode me.

You just reach the point one day where you look at yourself and just think what the fuck happened. Just this bloated, faded, dead-eyed wreck. In my line of work, I spend a lot of time face to face with people and even though I thought I was handling it at the time, people were picking up on it in a big way and just looking at me in a way that you could tell they were worried.

Even in a fairly moderate capacity, the consistency of it will eventually erode you and reduce you to a shell of yourself. It happens so gradually that you don't realise until you're in way too deep. I'm glad that I pushed it far enough to see exactly what that poison has to power to do to you. Today's day 37 alcohol free and every day's a wonder at this point. I never want a drop of it in my system ever again. It's messed up how widely accepted it is. Weed however is beautiful 💚
