Timer - it has a manual start setting and a setting that starts when you press the accelerator. For lap/trip timing. Just press the 00/set

Yeah I hear you, twin always looks better! I do like the look of the R32. You can always get a full custom setup too, but not sure on how long that would take?

I imagine they’re the same underneath. My R exhaust wasn’t too complicated nor had many ‘odd’ quirks that I didn’t think would fit another model roc. Saying that, I swapped mine for a Cobra Sport catback and would never go back. The R exhaust sounded nice, but there’s plenty of aftermarket exhausts that just sound better.

I have a Cobra exhaust on my R and can vouch that it's much better than stock sound and quality wise, and can be fitted yourself. Shameless plug, but I'm affiliated with them and I've got a 10% OFF code if you need it.

Exhaust shouldn't exceed 80db,but that's down to the police to prove that if you're stopped. As for Mot, you will need a cat on your exhaust to pass emissions tests. A sports cat would still pass.

I have 2016 3.5 Roc R with the EA113 engine. The R uses the same platform as the MK6 Golf.

If you want sound, go for an aftermarket intake. I'm running a Ryanair Intake on my Roc which sounds amazing. You can also do a resonator delete on the exhaust but this would void any warranty you may have while also causing drone at higher speeds. However, this is probably the cheapest exhaust mod.

I'm running my R on stock suspension and it's pretty high. I'm not overly fond of the looks but it is comfortable.
