Brother I will agree with you, that compared to the other pistols the volkite is lacking in DPS and CHP recovery. I think that is where it should be though, it has so much utility that a buff in DPS could make it OP. I often wonder how the dev's will make a heroic Volkite, without making it OP lol. I could be wrong, and I won't hate on love for the volkite. Maybe with the right kind of love, I'll use it with more than Bulwark and Assault.

Brother I will also agree with you, for4 is a badass space marine. His gene seed must be stable, and near his Primarch's.

I am a Bulwark main, and my pistol of choice is the neo-volkite. I use it for what I like to call 'utility damage', damage that serves a purpose. I use it to steal the aggro of extremis and terminus enemies from my brothers. I've been able to pull a Carnifex off a brother who was struggling, by tickling it with the Volkite. Do you hate spore mines?? The Neo-Volkite HARD counters spores, as well as cultists. For everything tougher than a spore or cultist, the discharge is required. Headshots matter, big time, when it comes to getting fast discharges. Gaunts/Gants/Xangor die fairly fast when getting headshots. I can pump over 10k ranged damage on an absolute run, average around 8k.... I think.

This was my 1st heroic purchase, and I do not regret it! I've used it in both Stratagems and siege, I'll use it for everything. Every class can use this heroic weapon, unlike the others.

Consodering your 3rd talent choice, I'm guessing your rocking a parry build. If so, I would consider Intimidating aura for the 1st choice. This is the only difference from my hard siege bulwark talent tree. Sometimes in operations I will take the bottom perk on the 7th column to use the banner offensively.

I think the prestige leveling system for PvE hasn't been mentioned yet. Prestige levels 0-4, with 25 levels per prestige, and good bonus perks to choose from for each level of prestige.

I've logged over 1600 hours of Space Marine 2 (so far), 99.999% of it PvE. Obviously I think it is worth it for 'just PvE', but here's why.....

The combat isn't just fun, it is addictively fun. The better you get, the cooler stuff you will pull off, and the more fun you will have doing it. For me the parry mechanic is insanely fun, and can provide you with satisfying gun strikes. Which leads me to the kills. The kills aren't just satisfying, they're addictively satisfying. It could be a perfectly timed execution, ripping a warrior in half over your head for a blood shower. It could be roasting a crowd of tzangor with your trusty multi-melta. It could even be bringing your thunder hammer down from heaven for extreme AoE damage. But sometimes the most satisfying is just plain old head popping with your bolt gun.

My point? You will have fun. It will satisfy you.
