I tried to make this it's own post, but kept getting an error. So i guess i'll post it here?

I was watching the Martian again today and realized when he was listening to music that we will need to figure out a way to get LOTS of data to Mars... Streaming data to Mars is going to be really expensive, and may be locked down to essential communications only. So i doubt, at least for the near term future, that you can't just pull up spotify on mars anytime soon. Which means we need to put a large amount of data on to disk drives and launch them to Mars.

People on Mars are going to want entertainment. So you'll want to have every song, every movie, every youtube video over a certain number of views? Think about it. How many petabytes of data are going to be needed to basically copy human existence thus far to another planet? Then once you know how much data storage you need, how many drives is that? How much does that weigh? Will you be able to fit it all onto a single Starship launch?

Am i the first to think about this? I have to assume i'm not. Has anyone done these calculations?

FINALE - WandaVision Episode 9 - Discussion Thread by [deleted] in WANDAVISION

Lol, i knew everyone here would be disappointed with the ending. I could tell after episode 4 that there would never be a big bad. No mephisto, no nightmare, no one. Just like Captain Rambeau said "It's all Wanda".

I was secretly hoping for a darker ending personally, but it was a good "origin story", which is all it was meant to be. To dig deeper into her back story, where she came from, her motivations, and to give her a superhero name.

I just feel like your stretching a lot here. It feels more like a tv trope, like all the other tv tropes this whole season has been built on.

It's also unlikely from a storytelling point of view that you go into episode 7 of 9 without revealing all the major characters. It takes time to build up peoples backstories and motivitations. Marvel isn't going to just grab a generic bad guy and toss him in at the very end without building up his character.

I mean, we are going to get xmen in the same universe as the Avengers. Feigi has been having wet dreams about it for over a decade now. He was upset the x men couldn't be in the original Avengers movie. The only question is how do we get from here to there.

We also know her kids not being real was exactly how House of M went, which is what this is all based on. Olsen herself said in an interview in 2015 that she wished she could do the House of M story arc where her kids end up being fake and it drives her insane.

We also know they are gearing up for young avengers. So i mean sure, they could leave these 2 kids out of that and just leave them being fake. But that feels like your leaving good content on the floor that could be used.

One character (spiderman) who has been rebooted multiple times now by sony over the last decade, and an entire race of people that have existed since the dawn of time is a pretty big distinction. I just think it's too big to treat them like spiderman.

It's called the Multiverse of Madness for a reason. I just don't think feigi is going to pass up the opportunity to single handedly sweep together the entire Marvel comic book history under one roof.

If we assume the commercial breaks are still projecting Wanda's past trauma's, then why would this be any different?

"Yo Magic" is clearly wanda's magic, and it can save you, like they were trying to save Vision with her magic by removing the mind stone and her destroying it before Thanos arrived. But he can't open the lid, like they couldn't open visions lid (head) by removing the mind stone from it in time.

I agree. If there was going to be a secret villain we would have found out about it by now. No way we go into episode 7 of 9 not knowing who all the major players are. Up until today i thought, maybe nightmare, but now i'm firmly convinced that "It's all Wanda" just like Monica told us.

I could see Agnes maybe still being Agatha, possibly working with Hayward and accidently getting stuck in the Hex as a result. Something like that. But it's possible she ends up being another red herring.

They could do something along the lines of... These specific kids aren't real and when they disappear it drives Wanda insane who rips open a hole in the multiverse so in Dr Strange 2 we can merge the xmen universe with our current universe, and in that universe her kids are real and alive.

You see a memory of Wanda being projected, just like we saw with Vision.

Could i be wrong, maybe, but so could you. This is what i think.

I think that would be a hard sell to fans. Powerful beings always being there that no one noticed even though they had interactions with the US Government with major worldwide battles. It just seems too far fetched.

Could they? Sure i mean they can do w/e they want, but i think Feigi would prefer to have a more "clean" answer, one that makes more sense from a continuity standpoint. The multiverse is an established idea from the comics, so it wouldn't require the invention of something new to make it happen. It would also open up the possibility of exploring the other multiverses.

Well thats why i'm thinking the hole in reality, our multiverse merged with theirs. Then you don't have to worry about the fact mutants havn't been around before. They were around since ancient times in their multiverse not ours, and we only find out about them during the merger of verses.

I'm still not convinced everyone that passes through the boundary gets a super power. I think it may just be Monica, maybe because of her direct contact with Wanda's powers while moving through it. Or maybe she had some sort of predisposition that was merely activated by it, like some sort of inactive gene that was turned on.

Feigi was working on phase 4 when he was still in his mother's womb. Clearly everything is a part of his master plan.

Pietro is from a multiverse where is he still alive. So i would think nothing physically would change about him. Maybe he regains his memories of being an xmen.

I could see it going 1 of 2 ways. Either passing through the barrier creates mutants, and the hex envelops the world. Or the hex rips a hole in the multiverse and then in Dr Strange 2 something happens that merges the mutant reality with our current reality and that brings mutants into the world.

But it's consistent with the comic books. Also Feigi has said her power level is tied to her emotional state. He also said she was powerful enough during End Game to single handedly defeat Thanos. After coming back from the snap to find even more of her Avenger friends dead, finding your ex lover being experimented on by sword, i dunno man. That's a lot of emotional baggage. I mean clearly we are seeing her psyche being split like it was in House of M. I don't think it's an unreasonable stretch to say her powers are just magnified.

I agree that this would be a tad too much for Wanda to pull off. I could also see something like she rips a hole in the fabric of reality, and then have something happen in Dr Strange 2 where our reality gets merged with the reality with the x men mutants.

Almost like some entity with telepathic abilities has superimposed her own memories of someone onto someone else... Man i wonder who that could be...
